He's the singer of all the records number of concerts, of people going to the concerts, of sold records... In french "avoir la banane" (have banana) is an expression wanting to say have the smile. :)
@murielle17033 жыл бұрын
Je comprends rien quand il dit Bananas. Il veut dire quoi en fait ?
@LetsChillPage3 жыл бұрын

Here's a translation for the lyrics: L'envie Let me have darkness and then broad daylight Let me have hunger, thirst and then a feast Let me get rid of what is secondary and pointless So that life is worth living again, at last Let me work hard so that I enjoy sleeping Let me be cold so that I love a fire So that I love my land, let me be exiled And lock me up so that I can dream of women Chorus I was given too much before I had the urge I forgot to dream and to say 'thanks' All the things that are worth it That give you an urge to live, and desire too, And pleasure too Let me have the urge, the desire to want Let me rekindle my life Let me have hatred so that I cherish love Loneliness, too, so that I can love people So that I can love silence, let me have speeches And let me be poor to respect money So that I am healthy, let me overcome disease Let me have night time so that I love daylight Let me have daylight so that I love night time And to love today, forget about forever Chorus (2)

Johnny Hallyday started his career in 1960 at the age of 17. He was a very big fan of American rock n'roll from which he adapted many songs in French (like many other singers of that time). He was a French superstar with a sixty-year career. He was a rocker like his friend Eddy Mitchell and his rival Dick Rivers (two other good singers). L'envie is one of my favourite song with Requiem pour un fou.

Johnny Hallyday was a huge star in France and other countries. He was an incredible singer, but if he hadn't had genius song makers like Jean-Jacques Goldman, and Michel Berger, his career would have stopped in the 80's. Unfortunately Michel Berger passed away too soon, but he had made many songs for other singers, himself and "Starmania". Jean-Jacques Goldman is the greatest song maker France has ever known. Many French singers owe him a lot for reviving their career, he made lots of songs for Johnny, Hallyday and Céline Dion but he has also written and composed a lot for many artists under a pseudo, so that people listen to the songs for the singer and not for him. Jean-Jacques Goldman retired in 2016, but sometimes he still participates to the writing or composition of songs for other singers. And after 5 years without seeing him, he is still the favorite character of French people. And i only talk about him as an artist.

A legend... I will try to tell you you his story as best i can.. Johnny Hallyday was born on Tuesday, June 15, 1943, in Paris and passed away on the night of December 5 to 6, 2017, in his house in Paris at the age of 74. He was buried on a French island he loved, Saint-Barthélémy. He is the son of a Belgian father and a French mother. He had four children, two of whom were adopted, with his last wife Leaticia Hallyday. In 57 years of career, he recorded around 1300 songs. 180 songs were turned into music videos or scopitones. 758 authors and composers collaborated with him. Johnny composed 105 songs himself and also composed about ten pieces for other artists. He also wrote and co-wrote a few songs. Johnny also has 545 duets with 188 different artists on 214 tracks. His first 45 RPM record was released on March 14, 1960, but it was on December 30, 1959, that he was heard for the first time on the radio in the show "Paris cocktail." On April 18, 1960, under the sponsorship of "Line Renaud", he made his first television appearance in "L'école des vedettes." And the great "Charles Aznavour" believed in his talent from the beginning and wrote him a few songs because he was convinced that Johnny would go very far and have a very great career and he was not wrong !! Johnny even lived for two years with Charles and his family. Johnny always considered Charles as his spiritual father. And even the great "Edith Piaf" came to see his first concert at the Olympia in 1961 !! 57 years later, 93 certifications including 41 gold records, 4 double gold records, 23 platinum records, 8 double platinum records, 5 triple platinum records, and 12 diamond records (including one double diamond and one triple diamond) testify to an exceptional career, crowned by 10 Victories or Special Victories or Music Honor Victory. And 2 NRJ Music Awards. Johnny is the most acclaimed French artist and the one who has sold the most records in France. The number of units sold is estimated at 200 million, including more than 115 million records sold. Imagine if he had had an international career... With 805,000 sales in one week of "Mon pays c'est l'amour" (51st album) (posthumous album), Johnny was ranked No.1 worldwide in 2018. A stage beast recognized by all, Johnny went on more than 184 tours and attracted nearly 30 million spectators throughout his career, having given more than 3502 concerts. Johnny is the only French artist whose almost complete works have been recorded in audio and video. About twenty fan clubs (approximately 15,000 members in total). Johnny is also an actor with no less than 43 films (including appearances) to his credit throughout his career. He received a "Jean Gabin" award in 2004 for the film "L'homme du train". Johnny was a good actor, but the films they offered him were not good films, unfortunately.. He dreamed of being an actor and not a singer, but life decided otherwise, and fortunately so !! Let's get back to the music. Johnny performed a song that is a hymn to love, peace and freedom. The song is titled "Essayez" which means "Try" from the album "Vie" from 1970 that he sang throughout his career. Johnny was not only a rocker but also a committed singer, he sang for AIDS research with several singers including several songs created for these occasions, he did concerts to help underprivileged children, handicapped and others for the association (La bonne étoile) that his wife Laeticia Hallyday created with her friend the chef Hélène Darroze and also did concerts against cancer for the association (Vaincre le cancer). On March 13, 1972, Johnny filled the Olympia for an exceptional gala in favor of the league against racism (LICRA), bringing together a few singers around him and in the presence of the president of the senate at the time. The following year, in 1973, he composed and performed a song dedicated to this league against racism (LICRA) called "Le droit de vivre" which means "The right to live" from the album "Insolitudes". This song will become the theme song of the LICRA direct expression show on public channels in the late 70s. He also performed a song that recalls the Tian'anmen square protests in beijing in june 1989, the brutal repression, the barbaric massacre by chinese authorities of students and workers who denounced government corruption. The song is titled "Tien an men" from the album "Ça ne change pas un homme" from 1991. The following year, in 1992, he performs this song during his concert at Bercy. Johnny was a great friend of animals, he always had dogs in his life, the animal cause was close to his heart and in 2002 he performed a magnificent song against those who abandon their animals. The song is titled "Au bord des routes" which means "At the side of the roads" from the magnificent album "À la vie à la mort." In 2016, a year before his death, he was on a motorcycle road trip with friends on American roads, and it was then that he found an abandoned puppy by the side of the road, he couldn't resist and adopted him, the little puppy is named "Cheyenne." He was a man with a big heart. He was made a knight of the Legion of Honor in 1997, he has also been an officer of the Order of the Crown since 2001, but above all, he has been a knight of the Arts and Letters since 1995. He has sung in several languages (English, Italian, Spanish, Turkish, Japanese and German). By listening to his songs, you will realize that this great singer was capable of singing anything. There is something for everyone: rock'n'roll, rhythm and blues, soul, psychedelic rock, soft rock, pop rock, rockabilly, country, a rock opera album (Hamlet) from 1976 (This album was ahead of its time). A unique voice... His voice has continued to evolve over the years, becoming more and more powerful and precise. Johnny can be compared to the greatest singers in the world !! He brought together the rich, the less rich and the poor, including several generations, throughout his career. He has done exceptional concerts with crazy entrances, here are some examples: In 1984 at the Zénith Johnny is inside a giant hand, the arm advances with the hand in a closed fist above the spectators and opens.(It was necessary to break a wall to pass the giant hand above the stage). At the Parc des Princes in 1993 he enters from the back of the stadium passing in the middle of the crowd for three consecutive nights.(no one in the world had done that before him) and he does it again in 2013 at Bercy. In 1998 he arrives by helicopter and descends onto the roof of the Stade de France. In 2012, at the Stade de France, he arrived in a giant flying ball, a mine which destroyed the giant screen and then landed on stage. In 2016 for his "Rester vivant tour" he is inside a giant skull with glowing eyes that descends from the ceiling and landed on the stage, splitting open. Here are some songs: Quelques cris, L'envie, Allumer le feu, Ce qui tue pas nous rend plus fort, Tu es elle, Que je t'aime, Rough town, Je te promets, Quelque chose de Tennessee, Vivre pour le meilleur, Pense à moi, Fool for the blues, Marie, Laisse moi tomber, S'il nest pas trop tard, Ma religion dans son regard, Le temps passe(duet), Si tu pars(2005), Mon plus beau Noël, Te savoir près de moi, Sang pour sang, Aimer vivre 'Tour Eiffel 2000', Ça ne change pas un homme, Apprendre à vivre ensemble(duet with Nanette Workman), True to you, Tout ce cirque, Tout au bout de nos peines(duet with Isabelle Boulay), Cadillac, Je ne suis pas un héros 'Bercy 1990', Requiem pour un fou 'Parc des Princes 1993', Derrière l'amour, Gabrielle, Ce que je sais, Les moulins à vent, C'est du vent, Voyage au pays des vivants, À tout casser, Fumée, Comme si je devais mourir demain, J'ai oublié de vivre, Elle m'oublie, La musique que j'aime, Ma gueule, L'instinct, Diego 'Bercy 92', Animal, Un jour viendra, I am the blues, Ça ne finira jamais, De l'amour, Casser la voix(duet with Patrick Bruel), La douceur de vivre, La paix, Debout, Pardonne-moi, Vent de panique, La loi du silence(duet with Laura Pausini), Seul au beau milieu d'un lac, Sable mouvant, Ne m'oublie pas, Mon pays c'est l'amour, Non ne me dis pas adieu, Qui ose aimer, Autoportrait, Rock'n'roll attitude, Rester libre, L'amour peut prendre froid(duet with Céline Dion), Ne reviens pas, Rock'n'roll star (movie)duet with Fabrice Luchini(actor), J'la croise tous les matins, Quand le masque tombe, Et puis je sais, Avant, Pirate de l'air, Un rêve à faire, M'arrêter là, Le coeur en deux, Entre chiens et loups, Un monde à part, A propos de mon père, Regarde moi t'aimer, Jamais(duet with Florent Pagny), Je serai là, Mirador, Les vautours, J'oublierai ton nom(duet with Carmel), Le chanteur abandonné, Toi tais-toi, Ne tuez pas la liberté, Montpellier, On a night like this(duet with Vicky Leandros), Il nous faudra parler d'amour un jour, Jamais seul, J'ai épousé une ombre, Chanter pour ceux qui sont loin de chez eux(duet with Montserrat Caballé), Je n'oublierai jamais, Je suis nu je suis mort, Rester vivant, Il me faudra plus de temps que m'en donnera la vie, Le bol d'or, À nos promesses, Noël interdit, De la race humaine, Le pénitencier, La terre promise, La fille aux cheveux clairs, La fille de l'hiver, Sage pour vous, La tournée, J'aimerais pouvoir encore souffrir comme ça, La guitare fait mal, Pardon, Un cri, L'amour à mort, Prière pour un ami, Rouler vers l'ouest, Te manquer, Entre mes mains, Noir c'est noir, Love affair(duet with Kathy Mattea), Une lettre à l'enfant que j'étais. @@gibs2bFor me Its not a legend of french music... Its a good singer and good lead singer of the Noir désires band but its not a legend or top ten like Michel berger, Claude François, Jacques Brel, Michel Sardou, Brassens, and other singer.

It is very interesting to see your reactions to the French singers without you understanding the language and the meaning of the lyrics you feel so well what the artists are transmitting. It's interesting that others take up the same concept as for Mylène Farmer, when the videos are 20 years old... Your reactions are gold! Thanks Dereck

But what a life.... what a career....what a performer! So intense! I'm just pretty much ....speechless. Derek... thanks for your reaction...and thanks to all who requested it. Without these two catalysts.....I would have missed out on ...... I can't even find the words. I agree, Derek. THIS IS MEGA!!! The song, the lyrics, the rock, the performance!!! This man!! I'm gonna go find more of his 🎶🎵🪕🎼💿🎸 p.s. quit throwing 🍌at me! LOL!! btw....I don't think his voice was weak. For HIS age at the time of this performance? Friggin' unbelievable!!! So powerful!
