One of my best friends, always up and full. Of life. I was a studio musician and worked with him on hundreds of dates. He was talented in every phase of music and a pleasure to be around personally and professionally. I truly miss him. RIP big guy. BK

I had the PRIVILEGE of knowing Mr. Mann. Despite the fact he was a celebrity, he was as "regular" a guy as you could ever know.

Johnny, so good to see you on TV! I hope you and Betty are enjoying your home in Anderson! I would love to see you again! It has been a long time since Ann Arbor and Cote de Caza! I will never forget..."A door is ajar", to which you responded, "A door is NOT a JAR! A door is a door!" LOL!! Those were fun days! Best wishes and Merry Christmas!

I'd wished the interviewer would've outlined some real questions and kept the interview in the lane, not allowing Johnny to ramble - which is so easy to do in these 'free-flow' sessions. Only problem is without editing, the listener misses out on so much. Otherwise, 15 minutes is better than no minutes. Good grab before he died.
