Its great how this music is great to listen too! when it comes to swing and pop music of the 30s and 40s, for every emotion there is a song. now-a-days there is only a song for love and hate...nothing inbetween. im not an old geezer (im 21) but i dont know how modern kids can live their lives without swing and pop of the 40s...i know to god i wouldnt have survived my teens without it!

Nah I will find out eventually it is a curiosity though isn't it? LOL They sang with the Dorsey's and with Miller later they sang with Tex Beneke and later in the fifies with different members as they evolved they played with others. Even in the 40's they played with different bands but they did a lot of Johnny Mercers stuff. And depending on who they recorded with you can find them with every one from Sinatra to the Binger - just a fantastic group. Thanks ! great chat!

It's actually June Hutton. Jo Stafford left the Pied Pipers in 1944 to go solo. June took her place with the group.

I am looking for Fred Martin performing the song. It appeared on the soundtrack of Crazy Moon.

This is Johnny singing with Jo Stafford and the Pied Pipers with Tommy Dorsey's Band. Frank Sinatra was for a while the male vocalist.

Wonderful performance of this song! Is it available on CD? Wasn't able to find evidence of any studio recording by Johnny M. If it's not on CD, could I purchase an MP3 recording from you? KZbin is blocked by our office server during business hours. Thanks.

Ok The cut is too late for Glenn Miller so is it one of the dorsets or is it Tex Beneke after he took over the Miller band?

Don't think that Jo Stafford is in this recording; it sounds a lot more like June Hutton, and I'm agreeing with the man who said it's most likely Paul Weston's band. Were it Dorsey's, certainly there'd have been a trombone solo in there somewhere.

@hep2jive I know what you mean...I'm 26 and I can't stand modern "music"...it doesn't have any feeling to it
