If AJ was still on sky Jonny would say he’s the best heavyweight on the planet.

His career hasn't gone backwards - he was never going to beat Usyk (Usyk had his sights on AJ after flattening Bellew). He just lost to an incredible fighter, let the man breathe and just fight man. AJ is very good but he's not great, never has been but looks better these days imo.

Why are people in these replies missing the point? AJ is good, NOT GREAT, not everyone can be the best and AJ is just not that, accept it. He can only go so far and he’s proving that, fair play to him he’s stepped up to every challenge in front of him, but he’s proven that he’s not the best, simple as

Love how Johnny is like this about AJ now, He says he has said this since the 2nd Usyk fight? Is that a coincidence that is when AJ left Johnny's beloved sky? It's weird when Fury went to his new trainer everyone said it was great and no one said he was finished when fighting Whyte and Chisora? But AJ has done the same and is finished? all because he fought Franklin and Helenius? Does AJ beat Wilder or Fury.. No idea, but do I still want to watch it hell yeah! interviews like this will not help it though as Fury will watch this and in his deluded world he will then ask for 90% of the purse 😂

He was only a wrecking machine because because of the level of fighters he was in with. moved up in levels he couldn't cut the mustard, so hearn has taken him back to the lower level and let's be honest he's not looking to good there. As for the second Ruiz fight, andy was twenty and half stone and joshua still ran like a rabbit.
@ZeeMC_Official Жыл бұрын
I actually think he is a much better boxer now. He will be able to beat those in the top 10-20 by with his new more cautious style. However, when he fights top 10, he will be forced to fight!

Come on, Give AJ a.break. He lost to Ruiz, which he remedied and lost twice to argueably the best heavy weight at the moment. He's a top heavy weight but not the best in the division. British Pundits hate the fact that their former Golden boy isnt the best in the division anymore, now all they do is try to belittle the man. He's still a top 4 boxer.
@Products__ Жыл бұрын
He’s at best the 4th best. Not hating on the guy but if he wants to fight for titles he won’t win them back, if he wants to fight for the love then fair enough but I think the advice he gets given must be wrong going off his reactions when he loses.

He might not be a billionaire yet but he’s worth 100’s of millions while you’re worth nothing. The fact you’re laughing at a wealthy man not reaching an even more wealthy status is the real joke 😂😂😂. Is AJ really a two-time champion, when Fury never lost the real titles and recognition inside of the ring, all along and to this day? AJ had paper titles that were gifted to him after some dorks decided to 'strip' them from Fury from outside of the ring.. true or false?
@asdadfafafafffallslsldd8068 Жыл бұрын
Fighters are only wrecking machines against tomato cans. They all get humbled and make adjustments as soon as they're fighting someone that can ride their best shots and outlast them. Mike Tyson, Tua, Briggs, Klitschko, AJ, Fury, Wilder etc. they all got humbled in the ring and realized they have to adjust their style. AJ is obviously better now than he was when he fought Klitschko. Fury is much better now than he was when he fought Cunningham. Wilder is much better now than when he fought Stiverne... At least if we put youth and athleticism aside.

Simon right, the decline started after the Klitschko fight..
@Jj-ty7qh Жыл бұрын
Simon is the typical person capable of talking nonsense and sense in the same paragraph. AJ after Klitchko was the best AJ. The problems for AJ started after Ruiz because Ruiz put doubt in his mind. However, his biggest mistake was not moving to the USA when he turned pro and set himself in a gym with a good trainer and learn the pro game. I think Roache or Mayweather would have been perfect for him style wise. Right now it’s like he doesn’t know what he is doing and has never learnt the pro game. He is still fighting like an amateur. It’s as if he has come to the realisation that it may be too late to learn and is now just doing it for the biggest bag.
@mattinterweb Жыл бұрын
The reason why AJ is a very good fighter and not a great one is very simple. He has no ring IQ, relies on others to explain to him what to do and even then doesn't have the confidence to do that very thing. His mind isn't as strong as a Fury, Usyk or Wilder's.
