Its true, once you saw Johnny Winter And in concert for the first time you were totally hooked and a devoted fan for life!!!! Johnny is absolutely the most awesome, soulful, hard rock n blues man ever!!!!! Saw him in 1970 at ,Combo Hall in Detroit, Michigan and have been totally addicted ever since!!! Marked my entire lifestyle!!! I had special dancing tapes made for Burlesque when I was an exotic dancer in 1980's into ,,20 minute sets to dance to when I was younger. Still love Johnny today!!!! Rip, my favourite shooting star!!!!

Greatest venue in the history of classic rock music. Everyone who was a legend, made their way through the halls of the Fillmore East. Winter is on fire an Becareful With A Fool is some burning hot blues. Thanks for posting Alex Cailf

How do you figure he didn't get the credit he deserves? I believe that on these recordings he was the headline act with the Allman Brothers playing before him. If someone doesn't dig it maybe it's because they don't know a really good guitar player from a bad one. You're never going to impress everyone and maybe it doesn't matter.

Winter’s vocals (and guitar) were fantastic. His line-up in the early ‘70’s was so unique, and I can’t help but wonder where he and Derringer would have gone had they stayed together. They were branching into different genres, beyond straight blues into country, rock, acoustic, and writing their own stuff. In any case, Winter turned out decades of solid blues - an amazing talent and one of a kind.

I always compare the the JW and period with Lou Reeds Rock and Roll Animal. They both were at the cusp of The big time and pulled back. The reason may be creative control. The maestro thing?

Rick Derringer brother drummer Randy z e h r i n g e r was with Johnny Winter and also. He was on the 1st Johnny Winter and studio album and he started out this tour in 1970 but later was replaced by Bobby Caldwell a fantastic drummer. I saw them with Caldwell here in Dallas at the State Fair Music Hall December 18th 1970 they opened with the first song off that album called I guess I'll go away. The poster for the event is so rare that it sells for around $400 on the internet period a week earlier December 11th the doors performed at the State Fair Music Hall Dallas. A bootleg recording was made it is the last time that Jim Morrison's voice was ever recorded! A bit of Dallas trivia for you, howdy from Dallas!

Killed it whenever Johnny touched Stones or Dylan material - my bet, this band could have snatched a Zeppelin number or two and ruled the game. A Dylan tune would have been the way to get a hit single IMO. Anyway had JWA lasted there never would have been a hair band.

Spiritual teachings and teachers were prevalent and adherents were seeking conversations with God and nurturing a relationship. Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Bhagavad Gita conversation poem, the Zohar. Tout Alan Watts spiritual teachings espouses Buddhist and taoist with Christian principles. Versatility and Virtuoso on guitar and vocal emotional range a falsetto with staccato breath control and phrasing a rythmic pentameter synchronize your voice with your slide guitar. God bless.
