So for decades all we got was Mean Mistreater from the "First great rock festival of the seventies" triple lp, ( probably edited) then in 2014 we get a couple more tracks namely Eyesight To The Blind and Prodigal Son now actual video shows up although this Prodigal is edited, wonder why we don't have the entire festival yet, maybe audio and video? after 53 years it's about time.

With addition of the Midnight Special JW songs from his appearance in 1973, Winter videos have gotten pretty good lately on YT.

Guessing Randy Z had left. By the time I saw this band, late November '70, it was Caldwell. Think Randy Z had some issues. Cover photo from Johnny Winter And Live was taken at show I attended. Loud as f.

Did anyone notice Edgar on drums this was before Bobby Caldwell I would say early summer of 1970

Rick's brother was on the album ans the tour and then had an issue that caused him to have to stop drumming. real shame! Excellent drummer. Billed as Randy Z, Their last name is actually Zaerringer

At the 0:12 mark Rick Derrringer plays the opening riff to Layla.

Ya your Right! That was a Cool Catch! Thought Rick's stage volume was a little loud? But in those days it was so primitive you were lucky to get a decent sound system?
@scapps9992 жыл бұрын
@@kevinkhoy7171 Wish I could accept credit, but my friend Brian McBride heard it and pointed it out to me. Yeah, it was a great catch. Interestingly, this was recorded before "Layla and assorted love songs" was released.

wonder why he cut GIGA short. Good sound

Good question. Johnny later said he 'hated' the album, noting it was too rocky for his taste. I felt it was one of his best. It is certainly my favourite, with a fine band playing some great tunes.

@@MrCherryJuice I think he and his manager believed Derringer was upstaging him. From the show I saw, it was true. Jonny was trying to rewrite history. He loved it when he was living it. That is when he started doing heroin that robbed him of his talent.
