I’m so glad you liked him! He won Swedish Idol in 2009 and his audition is great! In 2021 he was diagnosed with leukemia, but he still joined Skid Row in 2022. He just stepped back from Skid Row to continue his medical treatment. I wish him the best!

He did a fantastic cover of Sabaton's Carolus Rex together with Sabaton's ex guitarist Tommy Johansson, I highly recommend checking it out. If you like Erik, you need to check out Tommy Johansson, and as it turns out, they do a collab together on the Sabaton song Carolus Rex. Tommy left Sabaton to concentrate on his own music and with his band Majestica. He also does a ton of solo work on his YT channel, uploading a new song almost every Friday. He covers everything from Disney to Celine to metal.

So glad you finally found KZbin's best kept secret! This is just one of many fantastic covers he does. He sings everything's from Mariah Carey to Pantera on his channel and absolutely slays them all. Check out his version of "Painkiller" or Journey's "Faithfully". His personal.story is so awesome as well. Battling (and beating) leukemia in 2021, and then joining Skid Row the next year...

Erik won Swedish Idol in 2009 where he auditioned with Skid Row's 18 & Life (it'll be relevant later) and won with original song Higher. After winning the Idol he released two solo albums. In 2010 he joined Swedish rock band H.e.a.t where he replaced their original singer and performed on Adress the Nation (2012), Tearing Down The Walls (2014), Into the Great Unknown (2017) and H.e.a.t II (2020). Worth mentioning is that in 2018 he played Simon Zealotes in Jesus Christ Superstar. In 2020 he left the band to focus on other stuff. He joined his buddy & former bandmate Jona Tee, keyboardist in H.e.a.t, in New Horizon. In 2021, he was diagnosed with leukemia. During the treatments he started his KZbin channel because he promised to himself if he gets out of the hospital alive he'll sing for the rest of his life. He won the battle with that shit and he sings until this day. New Horizon released a debut album Gate of Gods in 2022 and on the same year, only couple of months after his treatment, he joined Skid Row as their new singer. And Skid Row was and is one of his favorite bands. He released an album with them called The Gang's All Here and played a lot of shows with them. All the while he kept releasing covers with many awesome badass musicians. In 2023, he released Eriksplanations Vol. 1 vinyl with some of his covers released until then. As for 2024 - his busy schedule made him unable to record new New Horizon so Jona teamed up with Nils Molin to bring it to life and Erik left the band. He also left Skid Row in March because he wasn't able to balance his full recovery and being in Skid Row. There's his sentence that stuck with me - "Always remember that no job, no money, no fame is worth your health and well-being. Health first. Always." He has autobiography on the way in September (only in Swedish, for now) called Power. Beside music, he enjoys martial arts & books. Covers: Painkiller, Headless Cross, Run To The Hills, Hallowed Be Thy Name, The Trooper, 18&Life, Rainbow In The Dark, Shattered, Chop Suey, Man In The Box, Child In Time (acoustic), Alone feat. Chez Kane, Seperate Ways, Faithfully, Livin' On A Prayer, Always, To Be With You (acoustic), Listen To Your Heart (acoustic), Eagle Fly Free, Chandelier, Without You, Love Gun, Kickstart My Heart, Still Of The Night, Highway Star, Carolus Rex, Dream On... I could go on and on 😂 Beside being a great singer, he's a great guy, as well 😁 Welcome to Erik's magic wonderland ❤️

This song is made and performed by Dolly Parton and i think it's the best cover I heard since Whitney Huston did her (the movie Bodyguard). You should even look/listen to him sing Mariah Carey's Without You, John Farnham's You're the voice and Eric Carmen's (Celine Dion) All by myself, they are also truly amazing! In 2009, Erik won Swedish Idol and performed the specially written song Higher in the final. On March 23, 2022, it was announced by Eddie Trunk that Grönwall is replacing ZP Theart as the lead singer of Skid Row. In March 2024, Erik announced that he was leaving Skid Row for health reasons after being diagnosed with leukemia. His first single, "Higher", reached gold on digital downloads after only three days. His debut album, self-titled Erik Grönwall, was released just ten days after the finals and debuted at number one on the Swedish albums chart and was certified platinum. Both as a solo artist and band member, Grönwall has numerous top 40 hits.
