Yes, go! I've seen them two times end of January/early February (2 days apart) on the European tour! They are great live (Jayoung's vocals 💯) and where very nice including their staff. I went all in with the group photo plus signed album (Note: The high touch was for everyone...that's the good thing when the groups are still playing at smaller locations). I had a little chat with them during the signing event (Yeong Eun was so kind to answer my Dreamcatcher related question 👍). I can't get over Iree...she's such a sunshine. Arem did throw several of her guitar picks into the crowd during the concert and at the end but I wasn't lucky to catch one.

OMG John, you need to check out more of Rolling Quartz. I've seen them in concert and met them at the meet and greet. They are awesome and play harder live. JaYoung is an incredible singer! Check out Fearless. It hit 1 million views in under 3 weeks when it came out.

Vocals - Jayoung, her nickname is “Energayoung”, a portmanteau of “Energizer” and her name because of her dancing while she sings. Studied in the department of Post-Modern Music, Kyung Hee University. She is a vocal trainer - many of the K-Pop people learn to sing from her.

So glad you found these wonderful ladies. They deserve the attention. I found them during the pandemic where they did a lot of live streamed shows. They did a lot of fan interactions, and were super cool and engaging despite most of it going through a translator. Finally had the chance to see them live in January and it was such a party. For recommendations, "Blaze" and "Delight" are great. But frankly, they don't have that many songs, and they're all worth listening to. You might also enjoy their cover of Dreamcatcher's Good Night.

I just found this band too and fell for their songs instantly. Arem is the bass guitarist, and I love how she slings the bass so low, at arm's length, which is how I play when I'm not playing prog or stealing Steve Harris' moves. Jayoung, the vocalist, is an incredible singer. Musically she might be my favorite member of the group because she's so damn good. "Fearless" is the song you're probably going to get the most recommendations for, and I'm going to suggest it too.

You've checked dreamcatcher and Rolling Quartz actually heavily connected, the drummer (Yeongeun) is (or was) a drum teacher of one of them, bassist (Arem) is a big fan of dreamcatcher, based on her KZbin channel at least. Ok maybe I'll list all the songs with MV: BLAZE Their official debut. Girl groups and rock genre are the less popular in Korea and they decided to do that way, the song basically telling that they believe in their choice GOOD NIGHT Remake from dreamcatcher. Title track in Fighting EP. They kinda cut the intro (compared to dreamcatcher version) but add guitar solo before outro DELIGHT Their actual first song. B-side in Fighting EP. Basically like they're delightful of having the members but actually can be interpreted to diadems as fans AZALEA Remake from soloist named Maya. Derived from the poem (actually Maya using war/colonization PoV, RQ using "failed love" PoV). Also b-side in Fighting EP HOLLER Another b-side in Fighting EP. Vampire concept plot story. NAZABABARA Title track in Hybrid EP. The most poppy sounds they have. Arguably polarised fans bcs many of them don't really like it. Also cultural appropriate case so the MV deleted from the official channel but still exist on 3rd party SING YOUR HEART OUT Translation word by word actually HEART'S SONG. Remake/cover from old Korean punk band. MV having behind the scenes concept. FEARLESS Their previous single release. Kinda being cocky against haters. They also did collab with soloist AlexA by doing cover or rearranging a song. Xtra - AlexA's song Pink Drop - Pink Venom (blackpink) and Mic Drop (BTS) mashup (mostly Pink Venom)

Happy to see you find Rolling Quartz! I love this band and just got to see them live a few weeks ago in Minneapolis! They're great live with tons of stage presence. Ask Ryan about it, he was there. He actually just put up a video about that weekend. Anyway, definitely check out some more like Fearless, Holler, Pink Drop, and Blaze! I love them. They have done a classic Korean song reminiscence. They did the song in front of the original artist. Same with Azelea and other songs. Rock has been taboo or at least no way close to main stream. They are adorable and fun.

Hey John, I'm glad you found Rolling Quartz, they are a talented group from Korea. Rolling Quartz has been fairly successful despite the Korean music scene being dominated by pop music. If you really want to hear the lead vocalist flex, I'd suggest either "Azalea" or "Reminiscence." If you want to hear them do something a little harder rock, then "Fearless" would be a good choice. Another great, but underrated Korean Rock Band is DIH, which I definitely recommend. Please take care and have an awesome day!

Thanks for the reaction. I follow them since 2019 when they started posting MVs on KZbin. They are very talented and in shows they love what they are doing. They are fire on stage and it shows they love what they are doing. If you want to see them live (in my opinion they are superb on stage) check out ‘Fearless’ and/or ‘Rock and Roll Paradise with Drum Solo’ official live (good sound quality) on their KZbin website, you will love it. Next - "Fearless" They toured the US and Europe this year, Successfully! They are on path that Band Maid used, small venues, meeting fans, and social media. They have also performed at a number festivals. They have done a number of covers - an Interesting one is - "Pink Venom" from Blackpink.

The Japanese band BRATS (Rei Kuromiya of idol group LADYBABY and her sister Aya's band) introduced me to ROLLING QUARTZ when they featured them on two of their livestreams some years ago that promoted Asian female bands; RQ was the only band to appear more than once on all three of the livestreams they hosted (other than BRATS themselves). I was hooked immediately (and they were doing mostly covers back then)! Jayoung the singer and the drummer (her name is too complicated for me to remember, lol) went to school together and had a band called ROSE QUARTZ (eventually attracting the blue-haired guitarist to the line-up) and AREM (bass) and IREE (pink-haired guitarist) had a band called ROLLING GIRLZ and have a bunch of cover videos on KZbin (as far as I know the ROSE QUARTZ band never put anything on KZbin)... After going through several line-up changes, the core members of each band got together and called themselves ROLLING QUARTZ!

Azalea is a good start . I am fairly new to this band also, but I know there's a story with the lyrics to this song that date back to the Japanese occupation of Korea. I don't know the specifics of it but if you are a history buff it might be worth digging a little deeper into it.
