@steammachine30613 жыл бұрын
The f in f zero probably stands for formula. Considering the highest formula racing car is formula 1. Numbers higher denote less advanced vehicles so it's stands to reason that a 0 being before 1 would be more advanced than an f1 facing car

I was so eager to play Final Fight in my home when I got the SNES. And it's astonishing how F-Zero throws you to the title screen right off the bat without any further presentation or explanation. Besides, its soundtrack remains dope after all those years. Mute City, Big Blue, Silence and especially Port Town theme are so urgent, upbeat but still atmospheric to the game. Even the records screen has got a fine keyboard theme!

I have a copy of Populous. It’s a really fun game. For the most part you develop lots of flat land to try to increase your kingdom. As you grow you gain power ups such as a knight, or sabotaging the enemy with a volcano. Once you feel your army is big enough you can try to wipe out the enemy by either invading, or flooding them or whatever other means you have. It helps if you either have the manual or watch a how to video of what all the icons at the bottom mean.

So many great memories! I got Pilotwings, Drakhen, Populous & Gradius all when they came out in 1991. I have beaten Pilotwings so many times, & I've NEVER seen those bonus stages, with the flying chicken! Crazy! I still have my copy of Gradius III I got for Christmas of 1991 complete in box, manual & everything, I absolutely LOVE that game, just incredible! Drakhen was weird I first got it as a gift for Easter I think, they would would all just randomly whack their weapons around, with *BLAH BLAH* sound effects would crack me up every time. Never beat it, just started playing it again not too long ago. Me & my best friend would always rent UN Squadron all the time, & he was way better at it than me & he had F-Zero too. With Populous I think the objective of the game was to appease your God, convert citizens to your God, & then defend or attack against other tribes God(s) & if you didn't appease your God he would send plagues on your city a weird but fun game, I enjoyed it! Never played Lagoon before, & I've had it for years, it looks a lot like Illusion of Gaia(another favorite I had growing up)so I'm going to have to give that a try now! Awesome video, so much gaming nostalgia!

Speaking about Populous, although it was a crudely representation, it was awesome still. I think I got it for $4. Actraiser is and will always be a soft spot in my heart. I got the game for free because whne I went to go and return it, the rental store was closing down, and the man that ran the store told me to keep it, and you bet I did. I still have it to this day! And Riggs... You need to revisit the Renaissance one, I finished it and they made it very respectful in regards to the original..plus there's a secret! Final Fantasy II(4) I have recently restarted AGAIN. I LOVE IT!! The music alone makes me shed a tear and gives me a feeling(like most snes games) I'll never get with new stuff.

You are absolutely not alone! Final Fantasy 4 is my absolute favorite of the series, second-favorite JRPG of all time (maybe even second-favorite game, period; I'd have to give that some thought), and 6 probably doesn't even crack the top 10; I do love 6, but to me, 4 was such a mind-blowing experience, and I even liked the stilted prose of its admittedly awkward translation. So yeah, Final Fantasy 4 is easily my pick for this list. So many absolute classics on this list, though! There's Lagoon, which is just an incomparable experience, and has music and atmosphere like no other game I can think of, not to mention great character portraits for the shops. There's Final Fight, which has its drawbacks versus the Arcade version, but for my money, has far superior sound effects; there's just such a satisfying WHOOP to each punch, and the hits are great, too. F-Zero is one of those rare Racers that I really love - I suck at them, too - largely for its great music and wild scenery. Even Drakkhen has such lovely atmosphere and music - love the marshland right around sunset - and some neat Point-and Click elements, even if it doesn't have the I Love You Monster; I have to play the PC original sometime, though I do have it. I think it'd be quicker to mention the games on this list that I didn't get super into: Pilotwings, SimCity, Populous, and D-Force, though I did think D-Force was alright. I know I know: I'm gushing, but this is my all-time favorite system, and it had a pretty incredible lineup at launch, as is obvious here. To this day, I can't think of a system that ever had me more excited for it. I love hearing you talk about this stuff, too, because you know so much of it; your comparisons aren't just the usual basic bro games that everyone knows. Interestingly enough, I do remember having similar reservations about it; I remember wondering if I could really accept the SNES as a system with great RPGs, since I'd loved the NES Dragon Warriors so much. Little did I know that it would have what is arguably the best JRPG selection of any console ever made.

I remember 1991. I had a Sega mega drive, a super Nintendo and a commodore Amiga A500. Oooh, those were happy days 👍

I was lucky enough to work in small computer shop in the early 90s.The shop was an official Nintendo stockest in the UK so I got to take one home on day of release to play test all the new games. I was amazed by mario and f zero . Played sim City for hours.. Later that year super ghouls and ghosts made me buy one

super mario world in the k-mart store display was the best thing. my parents would drop me off there while they shopped in the mall and came back to get me back when it was okay to do that for parents lol
