1/2/22; another great job disassembling & cleaning that string weave top stool. Thought you would not pull out those tiny pin nails...but yur patients & determination is clearly much better than my grab/pull/slam/cut/(swear)/drill/grind 'good-ole-boy' burn-it-out method. Also wanted you to put each spindle into some slow turning lathe, or other device, to make cleaning & polishing those detailed turned depths easier/faster than all that wrist bending you did. Besides, we tool- centric armchair viewers could have seen more of your shop tools & how you quickly(?) clean, sand & polish numerous tubular elements of spindle chairs, stools or other round pieces. Your experience cleaning up this stool came out perfect! That weaving on the top was amazing too! Another great job! Send us more videos! Always enjoy watching your furniture transformations.👍👍👍😊🛠🍷

When she was wrapping the seat of the chair she brought back memories of my grandmother. Back in The DR. she used to wrapped chairs, seats and other things with rope; That was made out of Palms trees leaves.

GLUE WAS ALL SHE NEEDED BACK THEN, BUT SHE DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO DO ANY FURNITURE REPAIR AT ALL. HER REPAIR LASTED, BUT I HAVE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT NOW - GLUE~ HERE'S A NEAT BIT OF INTO ABOUT THE PIECE. THE PIECE (DRESSER) IS ORORIGINAL TO THE HOUSE I GREW UP IN.

One trick to get small pin nails out is to dull the tip of a pair of flush cut side cutters then cut small serrations into it so it will grip instead cut. You want a tool that is fine enough to grab the smallest bit of a nail sticking out but without the ability to cut it which is the major problem this modification fixes.

I have several chairs and stalls that need that particular weave on top. Sadly where I live there are no weavers left so I will have to teach myself off of KZbin in order to redo the seats. The only thing other option that I know of is to strap the seat firmly and put foam and upholstery wadding then covering over with material. Your friend doing the weaving is very good.
