He's not a salesman, he plays games for a living for crying out loud. Razer sponsors his equipment and maybe the trips to gaming events, but he surely doesn't sell the product the way a salesman does. He reviews it, and in his special case, it might even help in decisionmaking - plus, there are many people like him who are missing a finger, and might want this to optimise their game. Selling computer hardware myself, it's always good to have a review like this, because let's be honest, the packaging and the basic information on websites doesn't always help.

Dimitris Rozis Lol is losing a pinky that big of a deal, least important limb on your whole body, you can do 99.9% of the same stuff as with one. There is a csgo streamer who lost both his legs and both his arms, and got some specialized setup making him able to play, forgot his name.

I've been waiting for this Orbweaver for a while now. Just ordered it along with a Goliathus pad and a Razer Kraken 7.1. The Green LEDs match my Naga and Deathstalker keyboard. Got an absolute steal on Amazon with an Open Box that was missing the manual. Thank you for the great review!

Did feel very promote-y, but I'm not sold on switching from a keyboard myself (Currently using a BlackWidow). Is the whole idea more keys on demand and better ergonomics for comfort I guess?

Idk about the orbweaver but the naga has been the best mouse ive had and it lasts for so long. I still use my 2014 naga for wow to this day. May I add the same naga I bought in 2014. The one and only razer mouse i ever bought.

What are your thoughts on the glue that gives out after a month of use and leaks all over the pad? Has Razer fixed this issue? And don't tell me "Oh, mine has never done that." Tons of people have had it happen, so one working out of a hundred thousand is irrelevant.

***** I contacted Razer, and the rep personally assured me that the Orb Weaver only leaks if manufactured incorrectly and that if it did leak, Razer would replace it with a new one as long as I held onto the purchase information. Not the serial number or proof of purchase, but the sale receipt itself. Maybe I'll get one after all. I'll let you know how it turns out.

This is just what I needed demonstrated. For many years I've been just clicking while playing WOW and haven't wanted to use the keyboard because i don't like how it feels when simulating how it would feel to use it. The Razer Orbweaver Stealth is the product which finally managed to push my old gray, black, & orange Belkin n52 into the closet after a decade of use (actually both of them, i have 2, got a spare when they stopped making them). Personally, I recommend the stealth version over the regular version of orbweaver. Also, the orbweaver is kinda for bigger hands, I'd get the tartarus if you have smaller hands. I'm NOT a razer fangirl, but they finally surpassed the old Belkin design. Kudos razer.

I was looking at this or stealth version and the Tartarus. I see this has 5 more buttons. So does it do the same as the Tartarus but 5 additional buttons? Also is the stealth just smaller then? I believe the Tartarus can allow for thumb stick to act as a function key. So the 15 keys become different keys depending on which way you push thumb stick.

Chris Danna The tartarus has a smaller keypad area as it has 5 fewer buttons. This makes the tartarus more ideal for anyone with hands that are small to medium sized, as you can easily reach everything. The orbweaver takes a somewhat large hand to comfortably reach all 20 keys. The stealth version has mechanical key switches that take less force, so the keys have a more soft-touch feel, and are noticeably less 'clacky' sounding. I don't recommend using the 8 direction thumb stick for toggling key loadouts, because its very easy to hit a direction other than the one you intend. The old Nostomo's 4way Dpad was much better gor doing what you're describing. However there is a button above and below the thumb stick, which are ideal for toggling the keybinding loadouts. Most use only the upper button for this, and the lower button as a familiar-feeling spacebar for jumping. Personally, I program the spacebar onto one of the 20 main keys, so I can tap it while using my thumb for moving (forward, back, strafe L/R) on the thumbstick. The advantage becoming immediately obvious the first time you encounter a fence that you need to move forward while jumping to cross. This free's up the lower thumb button to be an additional keybind loadout toggle.

kathrynck I just use the space so I am used to my thumb already hitting my jump for me. as far as movement and jumping I have never had issues at all. the advantage as you said would be getting used to the thumb to move. still use up the same amount of slots though. as far as binding like I said to toggle key loadouts. for the most part I would probably just go with 2 additional loadouts. however I would use 3 buttons for one and 3 buttons for the other. take a compass for instances. or just in general North, South, East, West. North being up, South being down. I would go with Nort, North West, and North East all for the same toggle. and same with South, South East, and South West. 1 reason is I don't think I would ever need any more then the 3 toggles for my button layout then. and the second is that way I wont accidently push the stick North East when I wanted to be at North. I then can use the East and West just as a button something simple if I want. like maybe a bind on rules. this way I know I want to hit the bind that says no cheating of any kind. I can stop pushing buttons and then go to hit the West or left on the thumbstick. or just keep them as blanks. if the orbweaver has the 5 additional keys then that's cool. even if slightly hard to reach those can simply be binds or things that are not commonly used. the part I am not sure on is if I go with using the thumbstick to move with, which I may do as well so that when I go to my brothers house and play on a console I am some what partly there. but using that I would have to see how it works with strafe jumping. also I read that both the stealth and the not stealth are both mechanical. the stealth makes less noise as it uses a different mechanical mechanism. I guess one uses the blue type (non stealth kind) and the other a brown type). I have not used mechanical keyboards and such yet so I did not know about that stuff and still don't lol.

Since I am on a low budget, would you reccomend me getting the old orange and silver Belkin if I found one cheap? I know it's like the Nostromo, I am just worried about outdated or no software.

I have a belkin nostromo n52. and it works fine. at least with windows 7. I just had to go to belkin site and download the latest drivers for it. it has some less buttons but works great for me. had 5 keys across the top, 5 for the middle row, 4 on the bottom row and the 5th key is a mouse wheel. then it has 2 thumb keys and the arrow 8 way direction key. I use the direction keys for the shift. and the top thumb button as a toggle between each of the shift options. but you can select any key to do that for you. so most don't use a caps lock so you can have that be your toggle or shift key. for the most part if you keep your wasd keys, on each part the same then toggle works great. has 3 shift modes for it. you can also set up macros. which are great for fighting games or skateboard games or what not.

I just got the Orbweaver after running with a Logitech G13 until just about two months ago, when I gave it away to a friend of mine. The OW was definitely worth the buy, and I haven't even used it in any gaming context except to try it out and bind its keys. It's extremely easy to work with. Just another piece of gear to add to the Razer Naga, the Razer Anansi, and a Razer Vespula mouse pad.

I am looking at switching to a gaming pad away from a regular keyboard because there are always so many abilities that you need to have ready at all times that a keyboard just isn't 100% for me. Right now I rely heavily on in-game macros so I can get everything I want done in games. Your review was very helpful!

Long time ago I bougth Belkin Nostromo key pad just to test how it works, and fell in love with its easy controlling. Since then I haven't used regular keyboards in games. I have now Orbweaver Elite. Different compared to regular keyboard? Yes, it's different, easier and funnier to use. Just my opinion, but it works and feels better than a keyboard.

I find the D-pad to be a Godsend for movement. It changed my life. Beats me that some people don't take the time to get used to it. You are wasting 3 fingers for WASD movement and it slows your maneuvers and ability mashing­.
