I’m currently working on the same model, and I’m having to replace the pinion gear, I pulled the pin to try to get the gear off thinking I could slide it out and some thing came on wound I think it’s some sort of tension spring for the hand crank so that’s gonna be fun but I appreciate this video as I was unsure how to really get this flywheel off and put it back on

What size and thread are the bolts you used for your puller. I've got the same puller but it doesn't have the correct size bolts.

The problem with this video is your hands in the way most of the time you can't see what's going on... In addition, you don't explain how to set the points. All you do is stick the feeler gauge in the gap.

What is throttle position when setting gap? Does it matter?

How would you eliminate the points and condenser and turn it into an electronic ignition?

It is not possible to convert points ignition to CDI ignition on old Johnson Evinrude outboard motors

what is the tool called to remove the flywheel? and what size screws? thanks!

The Flywheel puller bolt size is 5/16-24 NF About 3.5 inches long.
