Adam Smith I would argue heart gold/soul silver with pokewalker are in a separate ultimate league of their own. Since it is possible to obtain so many Pokémon before falkner including dratini. I ran some numbers. In heart gold the best place highest average exp is in the afternoon on route 32(Gastly’s could potentially out rank it but lower level gastly and ratatta keep the outliers from giving them a lead) giving an average experience of 50.7 exp per fight. You need 200,000 exp to obtain a dragonite and each encounter, with running, taking around 24 seconds each encounter. After crunching the numbers it would take, without any downtime, almost 82 hours in order to obtain Dragonite. Only one of the Pokémon able to be caught before Falkner. Heart gold soul silver with pokewalker would take someone beyond human

@@toxicmailman Garchomp isn't the biggest issue of this run . Even tho it's still very annoying . But really , the hardest part of this run would just be the Munchlax Trees . Because , even before you really start the challenge , you must have a TID (Or SID with cheat but yeah ...) that have one of the four Munchlax Trees of the game in the area you can access with only one badge . Oh and because it would be too easy then , Munchlax only appears 1% of the time . And you need to wait at least 6 hours for a new encounter on a tree

This would be hell for so many reasons. 1. As Twilight Joltik already said, most Pokémon can’t be evolved until postgame. 2. You would only be able to recruit 2 Pokémon at a time in any given dungeon visit until postgame, which would require A LOT of revisits. The dungeon where you find Mew (I forgot the name) also has to be revisited once you have the Music Box (which requires beating the Regis, which are in this dungeon) is one that comes to mind. 3. Kecleon. 4. Many Pokémon have negative percentages for recruitment rates (includig Kecleon), meaning they’re locked out of recruiting until your level is high enough, so you’d have to grind all the way to Level 90 at minimum to get every recruitable Pokémon. 5. Kecleon. 6. There are SEVERAL 100 floor dungeons that you have to complete in order to recruit everything (since some of them have a Legendary at the bottom /top floor), such as the Western Cave, Silver Trench, and... 7. The three Level 1 dungeons. Not sure if it was just me, but those are a nightmare to just clear, probably even more so if you’re trying to recruit everything. I’d imagine using Steel-types would help, but who knows. 7.5: There’s also the issue with Jirachi. If you bring the Wish Stone to it it can grant you a wish, one of which lets you recruit a Pokémon you don’t have. Not sure if that includes version exclusives or not, though. 8. Kecleon.

Because I forgot to bring it up: 8.5: Just as an aside really quick, this is all from my experience with Mystery Dunegon Blue. 9. You’d also need a constant supply of Escape Orbs (since I assume the bosses would count as the “Gym Leaders” in this case), which you can never really assure. 10. From what I remember, the postgame is a bit weird when it comes to exploring the many dungeons they give you: Apparently if yoy explore them enough it just randomly unlocks the next story-related one, so I dunno how you would handle that. 11. The seperate forms of Unown are all treated as separate Pokémon, so you’d have to consider whether or not catching all 28 would be a requirement or not. 12. You’d also need buy Friend Areas from Wigglytuff, which, from what I remember, were EXPENSIVE. Also, I think some Pokémon required you to have their Friend Area bought first before you could recruit them. In addition, some Friend Area will unlock new dungeons if you buy them iirc. 13. Kecleon.

Triggered Meggy unlike the real games, Kecleon is super powerful in every Mystery Dungeon game its in, outside of Super Mystery Dungeon. To recruit the thing, you need to be super strong, and considering that Kecleon only appear in stores within the dungeons, and you have to steal from it to get to fight it. A small KZbinr whoisthisgit actually has a good method for recruiting Kecleon. Simply max out Registeel on level, bring a One Room Orb, and find Kecleons store. You also need to bring healing items and then you need the item that maximises recruit chances equipped... for a 0.1 percent recruitment chance. Yep it is the most painful of all Pokémon to recruit.

Note: Instead of evolving Metapod, you can catch a Butterfree directly in Viridian Forest. There’s only a 1% chance that a Butterfree will spawn, though. Gen 4 would be one of the easiest, specifically Platinum. You can get Fossils in the underground and you can get a gift Eevee and Porygon during the main story (You can't get the Eevee until post game in Diamond/Pearl) So, in Platinum, without catching, you can get Starter Togepi (egg) Cranidos/Shieldon (random depending on Trainer ID Eevee Porygon Riolu (egg)

18:55 the badge system only allows you to buy great balls but there are a few people that give ultra balls and there are a few laying on the ground after celadon. One of the assistants gives you 30 if you have 40-50 pokemon at which point I had about 70. Just a note for anyone who hasn't tried this challenge yet

I've been working on the Professor Oak challenge myself in Let's Go Pikachu, but I've been taking my time with it rather than trying to get through it as quickly as possible. So I think I had a much easier time than you did with Zapdos and Articuno - I battled as many trainers as I could before I faced them, so my team was a higher level and I had even been given enough ultra balls to get by for those two battles. That said, I did struggle quite a bit at the beginning of the game, before I realised just how profitable it is to chain the same Pokemon over and over. At first I was just getting the pearl in Pewter City each day and using the profits from that until I ran out of balls. But then someone pointed out just how many candies you can get from a high catch combo, and things got much easier after that. :) I've been blogging my progress through the game, if anyone reading this is interested to see how I've been doing. Matt Hintz Misdreavus appears in post-game usually but can be found on Pelago as soon as you reach Poni Island which a whole 2.7% chance of APPEARING. That’s not even catching. Also, as soon as you unlock Pelago you have to stone hunt for all the fossils. So that’s worse.

Hey John! Just letting you know that you can actually have ST Light Up without defeating Surge! The man that blocks the path in Diglett's Tunnel dissapears after entering Rock Tunnel for the first time (even if you exit right away), so you can go all the way back to Vermillion, cross the tunnel and obtain Light Up to illuminate Rock Tunnel, without the Thunder Badge~

A couple of things: You should be able to catch Charmander on route 3 and focusing on large Pokémon in your combo (the ones with the red aura) generally result in more experience. Other than that, spot on video.

Johnstone Sword/Shield Professor Oak Challenge is murder in the beginning of the game with catching mons. i started one on shield because your prof oak videos inspired me and apparently youre able to obtain over 290 pokemon before milo including all the ones found in 1* raid dens (wishing pieces ARE required) as i typed this i just hit 200 in the dex after catching a 1* wimpod from a purple raid den. training isnt difficult due to all the candies you can get but catching all of them without using exploits will make it last a hell of a lot longer than it needs to. but if you do decide to do that challenge then i will gladly watch it when it comes out

It doesn’t change any of the totals, but you can actually catch a Dragonair in the same place you catch the Dratini, in the water outside the power plant. It’s just a really rare spawn and it doesn’t seem to be affected by catch combos for whatever reason

I have a problem where i’d want to do this since complete pokedexes are cool buuuuuttttt i have horrible patience when it comes to monotonous things like level grinding. Hell, i get bored and stop playing for a while from just grinding a pokemon from like level 25 to 30 off of pokemon that are level 20 or so. So Yeah i don’t i’m really cut out for this kinda stuff. Yes i know lets go is a bit more interesting in the grinding department but i also get frustrated at games stupidly easily. Example: a pokemon jumps over My pokeball 2 or more times in An encounter.
