After completing the grueling Professor Oak's Challenge in Gold and Silver, you all wanted to see me continue the series and take on the 3rd generation. Today we're going to see how easily you can complete Professor Oak's Challenge in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. Of all the things that amazed me, the "Each Pokemon underwater has a 5% chance to hold a shard of each respective colour" was something I never knew as a kid. Super nice re-living these games. It feels like I'm re-playing the game in each of these videos, but instead of having to see a playthrough of 20 hours, I see and learn a lot more within a fraction of the time. Your vids are truly something special and I thank you for all the effort.

Another great challenge!! This looks like the most fun one to me imo thanks to the rare candies, but that might also just be my Hoenn bias leading me to believe that! Not being able to Fly that long must have been fairly frustrating! Also, I'm sure these things have been mentioned by people in the comments before, but I figured I might as well note them here in case they haven't: -Slugma's ability actually doesn't reduce the hatch time until Emerald, much like the Compoundeyes ability, so your Wynaut hatch was still the full time -Magneton and Electrode present an interesting dilemma in New Mauville, since they're both available in the wild there at 1% - I wonder if it would be quicker to chance finding them and catching them or if it would pay off more in the long run to grind for more candies with Voltorb and Magnemite like you did -I had NO IDEA you could fish at Ever Grande before using Waterfall - I always thought that Luvdisc was the most pointless post-badge 8 Pokemon (still doesn't make it any more useful though lol) -Was happy to see "WHY" take up residence in the party as a pickup-er after a while LOL Great and inspiring video as always, man!!

I know that you probably aren't going to see this, but you might not have actually finished this challenge. It's an extremely rare occurrence, but there is a small chance that you can see the TV flashing in either the player's house or a random building on any day. It's possible to find a Swarm of Pokémon that you can't normally find in your game, such as Seedot in Sapphire. I remember reading a forum online years ago about this, and I was just reminded when going through my original Sapphire's save that I backed up and was checking, with the TV telling me about the Swarm of Seedot on Route 102. So while Swarms supposedly only occur after beating the game... you're still needing to catch those Seedot as well as any other Pokemon that are Swarm exclusive.

I knew that feeling well......at least until my Y where I encountered a shiny chingling and roggenrola literally 20 mins apart for each other. Then years later replayed emerald and got a shiny poochyena and linoone before Fortree city

the only shiny i got outside of the static shiny in gold/silver/crystal , hg/ss, and black2/wihite2 was a shiny magicarp in dragons den in my copy of crystal, and in my first playtrough of pokemon ruby i got a shiny ryhorn in safari zone
