This was an era when we would set aside time each week for our favorite variety shows. Those programs would lift our spirits and the lightened mood would linger for days. We were so much happier then, in part because of entertainers like Dean and his wonderful guests. It was as if vaudeville had moved to the TV screen.

This is my parents song. Every year since year 1, they have danced to this song on their anniversary. One of the best memories I have is of my parents dancing to this song on Christmas Eve. My sisters & I had already gone to bed but I couldn't sleep. All of a sudden I heard music so I took a sneak peak down the stairs & lo & behold, my parents where downstairs dancing by the Christmas tree. As they danced they kissed each other. They embraced & my mother put her head on my fathers chest as they just kept dancing....Its a beautiful memory & it wouldn't be possible without Dino. Thank you Dean Martin, we love you & we will never forget you.

Today is June 7, 2014. It's Dean Martin's 97th birthday and I'm celebrating it. Happy Birthday, Dino!
@lindashelley36358 жыл бұрын
jasminne mcdonald I'm from the UK, and I'm hoping that one of our TV stations will do a special commemorative series next year (2017) to celebrate his 100th birthday, like they did in 2015 for Frank Sinatra.
@jasminnemcdonald94A8 жыл бұрын
Linda Shelley Wow! They did a special commemoration for Frank Sinatra? I didn't see it.
@lindashelley36358 жыл бұрын
jasminne mcdonald I'm not sure which channel it was on but I think it may have been on BBC. There was a documentary about his life story and I think they also showed one of his old concerts around the same week. As I said, it would be great if they did the same thing for Dean next June for HIS 100th birthday. Also I wish they would show some of his films, they never seem to get screened over here. God knows we have enough channels these days which show reality shows and 'talentless' contest and other rubbish, it's about time we saw some quality variety programmes like the old days. After all, we pay enough for the license fee... (sorry, rant over, I'm going to sit quietly now and have a nice cup of tea and a chocolate digestive and I'll be better soon ☕️🍪 )

for real! I used to crack up watching things like solid gold (old Show) when artists would lip synch there own songs. then it just got more and more stupid. like who really wants to pay a lot of money to see a show of a performer lip synching all their music...LIVE? Then there is "Autotune"!! No One can sing anymore? I Find it appalling when a metal act will do these same things. cant remember thre band but during live performance the music began skipping. how frickin embarrassing!

Somewhere There's a Someone is a 1966 studio album by Dean Martin, produced by Jimmy Bowen. This was the first of five albums that Martin released in 1966, that year he also starred in three films, and appeared in his own television show. Somewhere There's a Someone peaked at 50 on the Billboard 200. The title track, "Somewhere There's a Someone" was a Top 40 pop hit and appeared in the Top Five of the easy listening chart in the late winter of 1966. The song was in a familiar arrangement to his comeback hit, "Everybody Loves Somebody" from 1964.
