I would love to visit Australia one day. I am a Canadian teacher in South Korea and teaching students about go to Australia, and I showed them this video and taught them about Australian history, aboriginals, Uluru, the bush country, the mix of cultures and restaurants in Sidney, Melbourne etc... I taught them some slang. I will make it a point to visit. I love this song. It's one of my favorite. And I love Albert Namatjira's paintings. Uluru is power.

I hope you have made it in the ensuing (strange) years. If not keep the idea open. One strange thing I have always found is that every time I travel thru the centre is how intense your dreams are at night…almost like the land is showing you its magic, its ability to tap into your soul. Australia is a living land, with wisdom far beyond our age. Just don’t get stuck in the cities. That will ruin it for you 😅😅😅

This too brings back so many memories for me , my first time in Australia I traveled from Canada where the temperature was minus 7%f wearing the clothes I traveled in I walked out side from the airport into an oven it was over 90% f what a shock ? I spent 6 weeks I total bliss visiting every where I could in such a short time along the west coast , I met many new friends, it was hard for me to leave and go back to Canada . The reverse happened on leaving Vancouver airport the drop in temperature again was another shock as I was still in my shorts and sandals! All in all a brilliant time , while in Australia , while on a prearranged 6 day safari with another group , the guide in the cassette player in the van we were traveling in played John williamson 's tapes my first time hearing him Brilliant and of course the first chance I got I bought a copy in a store in Cains, what a wonderful friendly place . That was in 1990 a few days after Christmas, I still play the tapes even now . A couple of my favourites , Bill the cat , the budgie song , True blue , boogie with M'Baby , just to mention a few . Wonderful 👍👍

Gary Whalen Here ya go: Pastel red to burgundy and spinifex to gold, we've just come out of the Mulga where the plains forever roll. And Albert Namatjira has painted all the scenes, And a shower has changed the lustre of his land. Chorus And it's raining on the Rock, In a beautiful country, And I'm proud to travel this big land, Like an Aborigine. And it's raining on the Rock What an almighty sight to see, And I'm wishing on a postcard that you were here with me. Everlasting daisies and a beautiful desert rose Where does their beauty come from heaven knows. I could ask the wedge-tail but he's away too high, I wonder if he understands it's wonderful to fly. Chorus It cannot be described with a picture, The mesmerizing colours of the Olgas. Or the grandeur of the Rock Uluru has power!
