Honestly I think the prequel dialogue is underrated. Think about it in Universe. Anakin is an awkward former slave in a VERY conservative religious organization, that forbids attachment and has no outlet. Of course he’s awkward, Hayden Christensen pulled that off well, which people don’t give him credit for. Ewan McGregor was great all around. The biggest criticism I’ve seen of this scene in particular is that Anakins response is detached from reality. Objectively, this makes sense. He’s turned his back on everything he holds dear, including his wife and closest friend. He’s in a state of shock. Meanwhile most people can barely sitp uot a ciherent centese niwadats.

Malcolm Mehaffey most likely not because John Williams is gonna have to make a new theme/battle theme for the sequel Trilogy. The newer movies will have mixes of the original trilogy, not the prequels. As of right now, I don't think we'll ever see the prequels back on the big screen and it hurts me to say that since I love the prequels more than anything.

I think there are two main reason some people disliked episode 2: - if you only watch 2 without immediately watching 3 feels like a movie that goes nowhere. In fact, every part of 2 sets up something in 3. If you watch Episode 2 and 3 as a single movie, no part of it is messy. - people don't like the deliberately immature sounding voice Hayden uses to play Anakin. This is only a problem with the original English version, many fan around the world initially saw a dubbed version in which Anakin sounds fine. I first saw the Italian version Episode 2 in which Anakin sounds fine and nobody thought there was anything wrong with "I don't like sand". I would like to say to all prequel haters, just watch 2 and 3 together as if they were a single movie, and watch them in a foreign dub with subtitles, maybe the Japanese one, pretend it's an anime. You'll find out that those movies are way better than you remember.

Episode 6 with Vader is the best because there is actual tension and dialogue and character development. It's not just continuous choreographed slashing. There are points during the fight where it is all dialogue. That is the sign of good filmmaking, not fan service.

This is my favorite star wars movie. How can people say this fight has no emotional weight? The whole movie sets up the conflict of Anakin and his beliefs. Throughout the movie, Anakin is constantly trying to obey the jedi code , while he watches the jedi counsel disregard THEIR own rules and standards by not even acknowledging anything having to due with the dark side. And by having Anakin spy on the chancellor and refusing to give him a fair trial. Anakin saw the counsel as ignorant hypocrites. (which they kind of were. Especially Mace Windu). And when he is confronted by Obi-wan, a teacher he felt didn't acknowledge him, all these feelings came to a boil. And even Obi-wan was kind of a hypocrite. He said that "only a sith deals in absolutes." When that statement itself is an absolute. He was just as blind as the others, and it all clashes together in this fight. I may just be overthinking this, but still... This is one of the most emotional and entertaining fights I've ever seen. Not trying to diminish other fights or say that the prequels are better than the originals. Just giving my take on my favorite scene from my favorite Star Wars movie. Hans Zimmer is more for me because i was first introduced to his music through Crysis 2 and MW2. Sure, Battle of the Heroes is a good song, and John Williams is by no means a bad composer or musician. Yes, John Williams did amazing work with his Music on Star Wars and its subsequent movies and games such as Republic Commando (We need a sequel to that game btw) and the Jedi Knight series, but i feel like his music is overused in Star Wars, with the exception of a few songs such as Vode An (which was composed by someone else but still.. it feels as if John Williams made it). That's not to say it's not good, in fact they're masterpieces. However i believe Hans Zimmer is more of my type of composer. Just take one good listen to some examples such as "Chain of Command" from Modern Warfare 2 which is a more hyped up version of the Main theme of MW2, and the Epilogue song from Crysis 2. Those speak to me, at the very least. TLDR: I Prefer Hans Zimmer more and that is just my opinion.

The ultimate battle between two brothers, two warriors who were eachothers only family, a tale of two who chose different paths. Everything they had built up destroyed during this duel. The trust, the bond they had. All gone. The emotion, the sadness, the guilt, the betrayal. Everything leading up to this moment. CGI is not outdated at all, it was ahead of its time then and still holds up well, looking better in most places than what they did in TFA in terms of computer generated effects (Snoke is a joke and Maz Kanata looks worse than CGI-Yoda). The art direction is flawless, motivation for characters is clear, in-universe consistent and not stupid at all. Villains being "bitches" is a complaint applicable to all SW films. The over-the-top fights and melodramatic mood suit the material and are a rather lovely throwback to the 50s epics. You can read New Yorker's Richard Brody's critical re-appreciation/reassessment of the prequels for more if you'd like. It's not a perfect film by any chance, but if you overlook the flaws it's actually quite a spectacle to behold. Interesting thing is the critical reception and complaints of IV-VI original releases were oddly similar to the complaints people throw at the prequels.

Stupid as in every characters is braindead. They make stupid decisions all the time. Why did the council send their most dangerous and rebellious Jedi who has also shown obvious signs of the dark side to spy ON A SUSPECTED SITH LORD? Why did Obi Wan jump down in a room full of droids? Why did Anakin not realise the several obvious clues to the fact Palpatine was a sith lord? Why did Palpatine take so many unnecessary risks? Ect. The only thing TPM set up was... I don't fucking know. CGI outstanding? Seriously? It looks incredibly fake. The steel looks like plastic, the lava looks like something from a PS2 game and it's boring to look at. Sometimes it's alright but's draining on the eyes for me. Yeah, ok, that was pretty vague of me. What I meant to say was, it was overdone. It got boring after the first half for me because it was all style but no substance. It was also devoid of emotion.
