In this video I will show you how to join Granny squares using the Join as you go technique.
I also show you how I created the pattern for my Vintage Vibes in just a few taps using the amazing Crochet Studio App. Download the app by searching Crochet Studio where ever you get your apps or use the links below. It's free.

Thank you for sharing your JAYG tutorial. Other videos that I have viewed rush thru this process which makes it challenging to see how the ‘actual join’ is completed. Very much appreciate it!🌸

Thank you for this video. I love making granny squares-by the way, mind blown by your single tail to sew in video. Watching videos to join squares were complicated for me until yours. Again, thank you.

Hello, Anita! I have been toying with the idea of crocheting granny squares but was daunted by the thought of sewing all the squares together; your video couldn't have popped up at a more opportune time. Your tutorial was thorough and easy to follow. Thank you so much for taking the time to create this video.

I am crazy about this method and is perfect timing. I am making the. Most beautiful granny squares and I was looking for a joining method that would highlight the squares not the join. What kind of border would you use for this

Thank you so much for this. It’s the best video I’ve seen so far on joining as you go. One question - do you weave in the tail of each square after you join them?

Gina: l believe that's the only solution what you wrote, there is no other way: because every square has a different colour: therefore to change the colour you need to cut the wool and add a different colour: Funny you mentioned this, l started to ponder on a solution?. What if we used a same coloured wool, would we need to cut the wool endsl: ??? I don't know! I haven't checked it ... The problem would begin when joining 4 individual squares into one square: how does one join all the 4 points into the centre of all the 4 central corners without cutting the wool: The beauty of Anita's pattern, cutting the wool makes it easier, you don't need a pattern in the 4 point centre or for the 4 middle points... because there is NO pattern needed here for the 4 middle points. Usually we all want a pattern here to show-up our work. Have a look where the 3rd square begins to be crocheted...from the very centre...and the 4th square white wool begins to be crocheted at the first opening on the edge of the 3rd square: This cannot be done with one colour wool: I hope l explained this correctly: Anita's method is so easy if you want that style: also Anita's work is a whole different way of crocheting: The most common patterns are, one colour around every square:

When you joined the first two 2 squares, with the yellow wool, do you cut yr wool off & weave in the end? So, there after... repeat third square cut yr wool off and weave in each end and 4th, and the 5th until the very end ?? Because l didn't see you do that !
