This video shows you how to join for working in the round on double-pointed needles (DPNs). It covers how to check that your cast-on edge isn't twisted, as well as tips for removing a twist after the first round. Hi, thanks for such a clear explanation. I am curious about whether it makes a difference if the needles I’m knitting with are above or below their neighboring needles. It looks to me as though you hold the dpns such that the needles you are knitting with are below (or under) their immediate neighbors. Does that make a difference? Thank you.

Hi Julie! Yes, I always arrange the DPNs I am knitting with so that they sit underneath the other DPNs. I find that most comfortable, but other knitters may feel differently! :)
