Here's an FYI: My neighborhood thrift gets a LOT of coffee mugs. So many, that if they don't sell, they just get tossed! I've talked them into selling the discarded ones as a "lot" for a very low price. Most are advertising, made out of pottery. I buy them to donate to a local battered women's shelter, and to turn a few into emergency candles. Just fill the cleaned mug with melted Crisco, insert a small taper candle in the middle as the Crisco is solidifying, and violá - an emergency candle that will burn for a very long time. (Of course, since there is no lid, one might want to wrap the top with foil, or saran, to keep it clean.) Many use canning jars, with lids, for emergency Crisco candles, but I'm concerned the glass may not be heat resistant. Plus, there is an abundance of coffee mugs!

I use one of those tiered stand in my kitchen to put onions and tomatoes on it. Works great and u can always wash it up and use it when u serve tea

What a fun video to watch. I enjoy how down to earth you are. I have the feeling that you could afford to spend money on whatever you wanted but enjoy how you get giddy when things at a bargain. I have been thrifting and garage selling for most of my adult life and at times out of necessity. Now I do it because I love bargains myself and the thrill of the hunt.

I have a glass basket in the same design as the one that you held up towards the end. Except mine is in sort of a peachy/pink (think muted...not bright) color. I purchased it from a thrift store in the Netherlands. So that makes sense that it would be either German or possibly Eastern European in origin. I like to have it out at Easter but in the Fall it also marries well with orange and rust colors.
