Amazing collections and top brands at this hidden gem antique shop!

Join me for an antique shop that has me wanting to go back for more. I am like a kid in a candy store walking into this shop. The only thing I like better than sweets are these treasures. I learned uses for two items that had me puzzled. Meet the owner, Hollis, to learn about one of these unique items. It's rare to find so many top brands in one spot. There are lots of unique items that impress. No surprise that I found a treasure trove of classic and affordable Waterford Crystal. There is so much more I wanted to share with you. Wait until you see the deals. If you are in the Houston area, this hot spot should be #1 on your list. Maybe I will see you there!
Couple of things to mention:
Herend is porcelain from Hungary (I had crystal on the brain).
Margaret Mitchell, author of Gone with the Wind, was inspired by the life of Mittie Bulloch. Ms. Mitchell was a reporter for the Atlanta Journal and interviewed Catherine Evelyn “Eva” King Baker, Mittie’s childhood friend and last living bridesmaid. She was inspired by the life and personality recounted. Mittie is the mother of our beloved President Theodore Roosevelt. I have spent time in the Bulloch home in Roswell, Georgia. Ms. Mitchell based the character Scarlett O'Hara on Mittie.

Oh WOW LMB, what a gorgeous store, and the first edition of Margaret Mitchell’s book, my husband and I visited her home in Georgia when we were on our Deep South tour, we were on route to “Graceland” (my hubby is an Elvis fan)so interesting to see her typewriter that she used to write Gone with the Wind, my Mums favourite film ever. My Favorite Antique Store indeed! The shop owner is a darling lady! We’re learning new things about you MB with every video!!! You play violin and so also do your daughters! My violinist son spent many years studying violin at conservatories.Interesting how you and your viewers have so much in common.I would love to see a photo of your Father’s Cranberry glass hanging kerosene lamp most likely now electrified. My grandmother’s lamp also a ceiling cranberry glass lamp. I have not seen another like it and would so appreciate you sharing a picture. Wow what a fantastic store. So interesting. Somewhere I could browse for hours. You’ve piqued my interest in Limoges boxes now. They are so nice. And as you say with so much attention to detail. I’ve always loved Hummel figurines. I only have one. The little school girl with satchel. A gift from a friend. Thought of you yesterday with the Platinum Jubilee celebration. Had a message from BritBox to watch the live stream, but was busy with this segment. My friend, Marc, is in London on business and is bringing me a teacup and pill box. On another recent trip, he got me Buckingham Palace tea towels and gold spoons. The ribbon loop-edged cake stand is very familiar to me. I grew up with it! It had been my grandmother's. My mother always threaded ribbon through the loops for special birthdays (ending in "0" or "5"). If you turn it over, you can use the hollow of the stand as a vase and put cakes/cookies/sandwiches around it. Always festive.

He’ll Mary Beth, I have the creamer and sugar you showed at 4:06. I found them and several other pieces at my local Goodwill store! What a find! I love the cornucopia. I am actively searching for it now. Easy to purchase in stores but I love the thrill of the hunt! Love your show. Also I lived in Ludwigsburg Germany in 1983 when the mark was at its highest. My girlfriends and I would load up in her van and drive all over in Germany and to the Chex border to Dresden for our “Treasures”. Two hours to the south and we were in France!

WOW, just WOW! It's a good thing I live so far way. I would definitely have maxed both my charge cards at that place! Jeffrey Kevin (Decorating Happily Ever After) and I would have fought over those lovely mantle lusters! (I discovered them because of him and his beautiful and extensive collection!) That cranberry epergne! And the Lladro........those Limoges and Halcyon Days trinket boxes sell for very high prices online; could end up paying for everything else I would have purchased in there! I'm truly grateful I don't live anywhere near that shop!

they are not tear catchers that is a misnomer, it is actually a victorian perfume botttle. ironically there was a book that featured a woman that used a "tear catcher" and people in antique stores used the antique perfume bottles as a "tear catcher", but it is just a perfume bottle. Tears wouldn't go into the bottle very easily.

Although I love antiques, china, yardsales, etc., I was never much of a fan of crystal/glass objects - until I found your channel - you are so knowledgeable. Can you recommend any books on the different types of glass and crystal and their manufacturers and, how to identify them. (I can't tell the difference between Waterford and 'ordinary' glass). Like I said, I really enjoy going on these excursions with you, but there's no way I could get into this because I'm a crafter, and I've already accumulated sooo much stuff! Everything is just gorgeous. What is the crystal pattern with the star in the middle of a spray called? I found a finger bowl but don’t know the pattern. It’s not Waterford because there is no Waterford mark. It look like the first piece of crystal in this video.

Hi LadyMaryBeth, could I have your advice? I have a Wood and Sons Irish Rose pattern tea set. The backstamp says that it's acid and detergent proof. I am not sure whether to use the set as I'm worried about lead leaching out. I've tried googling but can't find the answers I'm looking for so I'm wondering if you have any advice. There is crazing on all of the plates and cups too. It's a beautiful set and I'd love to use it but am also afraid. On another note, your videos introduced me to limoges and I'm looking forward to stumbling upon a trinket box soon.

I would suggest not using for food since there is crazing. Don't despair as there are other uses for these pieces. You could create a wall display with plates and platters, wreath with bread plates and saucers, cups for office supplies or plants, etc. A large bowl or soup tureen could be a lovely floral table centerpiece. A Limoges box will find its way to your home soon. Keep looking at thrift stores and antique shops.

Please read an article by Sonya Vatomsky on “tear catchers” also there has been scientific test done on some of these bottles that prove no tears were ever in them! But traces of inexpensive perfume have been found. And how would you “catch “ your tears in these bottles?
