Thanks for the demo. I nearly purchased these in the past for garden lighting. I will buy now after seeing your demonstration 👍 See them being used really helps when deciding which fittings to buy.

I’ve used these (or something identical) and they’re not bad, although I noticed that was cunningly edited to avoid showing the fiddly connectors... use boot lace ferrules, makes life much easier.

This channel is brilliant, remember watching you guys on the other channel at the college. I’m really glad to see honest, passionate sparks. You guys seem like great teachers too, reminds me of when I was at Nescot we had some great teachers there too. It’s nice to see this channel talking about brand new innovations too, helps me keep up to date 😄

good product for connecting a pond pump on to an existing flex etc, but really needs lever style connectors to be great these days. As others have said, so much easier to sort on a bench than behind a shrub in a garden somewhere! Lots of brands make similar connectors, I last used the Camdenboss CPWP3I from CPC, cheaper and more compact. No clip supplied but they seem fine quality wise

@@mrmac8816 well yes, and your point is? I’m just saying that what looks easy on a bench, isn’t as easy in a muddy ditch on a rainy Thursday afternoon in December. And product makers need to consider that, because people don’t want to pay me £40p/h to twat about with a crap fitting when there’s something better out there.

Hi, great video, I have a 12v ac/dc male to female extension cable that I need to connect to my camera as my power socket outside is more that 15ft and the power adapter only comes with a 3m cable, do you know if this will work? Many thanks

The hi-lex range looks good but I got to agree you went too quickly and the wire connection details was glossed over we need to see that more clearly and slowly please.....

Just a note, as I have used some of these connectors in the passed, these are an ip68 connecting, but they should not be buried below the ground. If your connection is going to get buried then a gel filled option is best. Just a quick question jo, can you use the T connection for a series wiring? I don’t think so...
@petermichaelgreen

They seem to do 4 pole variants which I presume could be used for series wiring with 3 core cables.

I’ve worked with a large Pond company. They sometimes use these submerged in the pond water. They add silicon sealant inside to make them feel better. I refused to use this method .

32A through that connector?.. I would rather use a proper potted IP68 Jb I think. I would use these in a garage, but not outside exposed to the elements 24/7 with 230V going through it. OK for 12V SELV maybe. And maybe use bootlace ferrules on that stranded flex (which should be TRF) otherwise great product 🙂👍

I have seen similar products fail in the ip rating on an outdoor crane which caused significant problems so im not a massive fan but ill still give them a go.

My company has a product longer than the size of the video, video products have a disadvantage, the disadvantage is the hollow tube to do too short, resulting in more compact wiring

I've just bought a straight connector and I'm not impressed with it. The one end of the central tube is castellated so the sealing washer does not have a flat surface to sit on and the other end has a recess which is too small for the sealing washer to sit in. I spent my life in engineering design and regard this as poor.
