oh my goodness this blows my mind! The joining was my reason for stalling on making one of these! I remember joining granny square blankets years ago and it was so tedious that I thought I had to do that again here! thank you for posting this Felicia!! these blocks are so beautiful!

I love all these beautiful colors. I'm kind of glad to see granny squares making a comeback, and can't wait to see your finished cardigan.

I was inspired to make this cardigan after seeing it on the SGY website and finished joining the squares yesterday. I was also pleasantly surprised to discover how easy it was. I wove in my ends as I went and just have to finish weaving in the ends from the fifth round now that the final round/joining is complete (I couldn’t face doing them all at once). I can’t wait to put it all together and do the sleeves and bands but also plan to block it first. I look forward to seeing yours when it’s all finished. I used some stash yarn in more muted colours but I love your bright, cheerful palette.

@@astitchintimepodcast8918 yay! I just blocked my front and back pieces last night and knit my sleeve swatch on the machine this afternoon. Hoping to have this done this coming week!

This is SUPER creative! I love the techniques creators come up with along the way of their project! How do you pick up the middle part of the granny square? (non corner parts of the work?) How are you joining the edges? Do you have a method to join the part of the work (3DBC in same space) of the top most part of the DBC stitch? (the "V" the stitch makes near the top of individual said stitch?)

just overall active video of you creating this joining technique?

I am mixed on granny squares, but are they winning me over? I feel like I’m old enough to remember when they were old, so have resisted their fashion renaissance. But now the Jethro is in my queue!
@sweetgeorgia4 ай бұрын
@@lisa.johnsonnn I hear you! I felt the same way… but I have been seeing them everywhere, especially on my trip to London… and I think they finally won me over 😆 especially with the opportunity to play with colour and tiny bits of yarn. I get the appeal 😜

@@sweetgeorgia yes! Oh how fun to take in art and design abroad. I’m thinking a short sleeve Jethro like without the knitted sleeves. We’ll see!

I like your top. Is each square one color-way or did you change colors within the square ?
@sweetgeorgia4 ай бұрын
Each square is 5 different colours that I picked from 14 different mini-skeins. So the order and arrangement of the colours is different in every square 👍
