This give me a little more confidence, thank you. I talked to my Air Force recruiter today and he said he doesn’t know what’s gonna happen, but he told me he’s gonna try his best to help me out. I didn’t want to tell him the truth at first because my two misdemeanors were deferred or the charges were dropped but he told me they would be able to see that. So, I was honest about it. I told him what happened. So, hopefully I’ll get in because my first time was use of marijuana and it was my first time eating an edible. So, that’s sucked😂 the second was no insurance on a car but I really did have insurance, I just didn’t know that my car was on my grandma’s insurance so I told the officer I didn’t have any and yeah. Was just bad luck for me.

Ive talked to 2 recruiters in the past few years about my offenses and they have both told me it's not possible with my record. I'm unsure if they're just lazy and don't want to go through the process for me, or they just have no hope. People ask why I want to join so bad, and honestly, I don't have a reason, it's just something in my heart that keeps telling me that I need to serve. I'm going back on the hunt, looking for a recruiter who has wants to work with me no matter what. I won't stop until my waiver is sent up and I'm told no. I found this video really helpful! I have a misdemeanor charged for assault tied with domestic violence but it was dismissed. I got into an altercation with my roommate.. Just make sure you get a Good Job in the Navy. I had to get waivers for the Navy. My first choice was Army tho . Army toook FOREEVVEEERRR to process me . Navy processed me quicker but I wish I wouldve went army in stead. Ship Life Aint It. Make sure you get a Good Job

Aye bro I have a question, Can I still join the Army even if I popped positive for weed at MEPS ? My suspension is over on January 8th 2021, an army recruiter said most definitely I can join and that was last week when I talked to him. I popped for weed when I was enlisting into the Marines, lucky i got this recruiter for the Army. He said he would do the paper work and work with me, I’m not permanently DQ’d from the military, just got a 90 day suspension until January 8th 2021. Oh also too, I qualified for everything at MEP and passed everything with flying colors, no criminal record, no drug records, 20/20 vision, blood test clean. So with all that said, my chances of joining the Army are higher now ? I told my recruiter all that and he sounded happy and he said just come on January 11th and he will work everything out with me from him getting a drug waiver for me for popping at MEPS. FYI, the military goes off the arrest charges, NOT the final plea agreement , or probation agreement. So even if you had your charges reduced to a lower charge or a plea agreement or fine, the plea agreement is saying that you are in fact guilty of the original arresting charges but willing to avoid full jail or prison time by doing probation, programs, or fines/restitution. There is an official matrix i read from the navy that says. You can only have 1-2 major felony /serious level arrest charges and that is up to their discretion depending on the felony. Misdemeanor arrest charges also has a certain threshold between 1-3. Traffic violations i think its up to like 5-6. But keep in mind , its case by case. Long story short, do not look at your final sentencing as a reference. Look at the original arrest charges as the military doesnt care if the charges were reduced as a plea agreement. You are still guilty of all the original arrest charges.

I walked into the Army office with a little situation and they said the only thing they offered me is to be a cook. Fast forward to today, I just swore into the Navy last week for Master at Arms which is the job I want. If you believe in God then nows the time to do right and believe and have faith cause when opportunities like these are at stake you really gotta have good faith and judgement inside you.

Now I’m currently getting processed into the Army since my case just got dismissed on October 3rd so I’ve been working with a recruiter to get a waiver. They won’t start the process until your case is closed. You can still get in though just find the right recruiter who is willing to put in the work!

Hey man so I have 3 charges as well. The first is a marijuana possession charge when I was 17, was processed through a "teen court" All fines payed, no criminal charges. 2nd was for smoking Marijuana, a $100 ticket, no criminal record. 3rd was an accident was dui where I was driving home from my gfs house after having a drink or 2 and waiting an hour and I crashed into some dirt, cops found me with .05 in my system, was taken to jail, but released with no charges or conviction. I really want to serve my country but is there any hope with a record like this?

Possible. They have marijuana waivers now , the DUI was it a felony or Misdemeanor. Honestly you should give it a try

I already went thru Meps and said no to everything. The only thing I lied on was me having a paraphernalia misdemeanor that I took for my gf at the time. I ship out in 2 weeks, I’m waiting for my recruiter to call me back so I can try and get him to sign a waiver, he’s cool so I think he’ll do it it’s just idk if I have enough time. My thing is I don’t wanna lose the MOS I picked which is master at arms. You think I’m good ? It’s the only thing on my record.

Good luck, bro... I'm trying to get into the Army National Guard with a deferred juvenile marijuana arrest (possession for sales) and a misdemeanor DUI conviction on my adult record... Because I changed so much and earned a degree and kept my stuff clean for 10 years after the DUI, they were willing to talk. Going back to the recruiter's on Monday with some paperwork regarding the arrests... not looking good because the juvenile was a sales charge even though I was never convicted and my record was sealed, but he said "we'll see about a waiver." I thought Navy was a definite no-go, but maybe I'll try them next too if denied... All we can do is pray and try 🙏 people change

I got pulled over in 2020 the cops searched my car I told them where my weed was and they kept searching my car and found my brothers scale in the trunk. At first they were gonna get me for intent to to distribute but in the end they just gave me possession of marijuana and expired tags.
