Anyone else feel like this is foreshadowing, or at least a parallel between their first fight and their last? Dio with the blue gloves ( the ice on his hands after he transforms into a vampire ), and Jonathan with the red gloves ( the fire on his hands after he uses hamon and the flame to destroy Dio )? Not to mention their contrast in clothing. One wearing black and one wearing white, signifying the struggle between light and dark.

I think this is an interesting look into classism. We always look at how the upper class looks down on the lower class, but here in this instance, Dio looks down on Jojo for being a "pampered brat." This is clearly a manifestation of Dio's jealousy towards his brother.

The irony here is that for all his trash talking about Jonathan being a "pampered brat", Dio acts just like the actual pampered brats of the upper classes. Despite not being an upper class himself, Dio sure embodied its vices: Dio is elitist, arrogant, prideful, manipulative, pretentious, entitled, vain and self-centered, believing himself above others by virtue of who he is, without working to earn it.

Overall, I think it's a matter as to how the child is raised in addition to their upbringing. Dio is who he is because of location and treatment; Jojo, while of nobility, was raised with humility and a sense of right, making him not a stereotype

Jojo didn't know how to fight. He had stature, but he lacked skill, which is why he got beat up often. That's most likely why he took up boxing later, and he began to do better in fights, but not all the time.

@@kringle7804 yes, that was the rule. But even in that scenario, if you go straight for the head, the opponent will most likely be able to dodge. Whereas if you punch them in the stomach first, they'll be less able to dodge a punch coming for their face.
