Part 6: "Black gay priest runs so fast he destroys the entirety of universe" Part 7 "President of United States of America tries to find the corpse of Jesus Christ to turn America into the greatest country by making other countries utterly shit, the only people that can stop him are: An Italian Executioner, A Paraplegic American Jockey, and a Dinosaur disguised as a man. Dinosaur turns out to be a traitor that joins president of USA after he is promised Manhattan as a payment" Part 8: "Earthquake causes a mysterious boy to emerge from the ground. Boy has no memories of who he is and has 4 testicles. Not knowing what the fuck is going on he tries to discover his past while in a meantime he stops the evil organization of dickless rock humans that sells people magical rock fruits that can cure any sickness while also giving a replacement sickness/injury to anyone that eats them." Best part: if you follow all of Jojo from the beginning without skipping anything, none of this seems out of place while reading.

Yeah Fist of The North Star heavily influenced the early years of JoJo, especially the artsyle. Compare the artstyle JoJo has now and the artstyle it used to use and you'd think they were two different series if you didn't know any better. Also Araki is most likely immortal.

William Beck oh yeah I so wish he would review battle tendency as a whole it's my personal favorite, it has so many things that would be awesome to watch him react to like the concept/depiction of the pillarmen (mega vampires dressed as strippers), the character of Joseph, and the gloriously ridiculous ending, and heck he reviewed entires series of comics like rom space knight so reviewing 17 twenty minute episodes doesn't seem to hard

You know, I just find it satisfying that Linkara has now discovered at least part of why JoJo is so good. But yes, this was a fun review. Oh, boy. Well, we got Linkara back...I think, but now we have a free roaming Entity, and one that looks just like him. It also has full knowledge of how the ship works and where everything is, including the location of Linkara's other tools. How bizarre is it that a Patreon requested review ties into the story arc? It gets more and more blatant from there - characters and Stands have names like Killer Queen, Vanilla Ice, Sex Pistols, and Red Hot Chili Pepper, among a billion others. The dub changed a LOT of the names to be less overt, and it.. only suffers once, maybe twice, with the worst one that I've seen so far being WORSE COMPANY, despite the guy who uses it as a Stand having BAD COMPANY written right across his collar.

Hamon and the Vampirism are truly nebulous "good" and "evil" powers. As the series goes on, even within the first part, they just start doing more and more absurd things and basically just saying "I did that with Hamon" or "I can do this because I'm a vampire". Hamon's greatest hits being turning bubbles into weapons, turning swords into light sabers, and allowing you to remotely control random objects. Vampirism is even more absurd as Dio himself gets powers like laser eyes and freezing people from a touch. That's not even getting into the absolute insanity that is the Pillar Men. Jojo's Bizarre Adventures is pretty much known for that though, absolutely bizarre and epic battles. The powers problem gets solved somewhat when they drop the vague "Hamon vs Vampires" powers to the very specific Stand powers in Stardust Crusaders and beyond.

I think one reason Linkara liked what he's seen so far of JoJo is that it brings in some of the good elements of silver age western comics, with Jonathan as the sort of protagonist he enjoys.

Yeah, the thing with the odd character designs in early JoJo (specifically how beefy all the men are) is that the artist was still kind of aping Fist of the North Star early in his career. He doesn't really get away from that until partway through the 4th story arc "Diamond is Unbreakable", at which point his artwork really comes into its own and develops the unique style that made him famous.

So, funny story, you actually DO see Dio's resurrection after being burned alive in the anime, after the credits. You see Wang Chan (the apothacary guy) searching the rubble for the mask the next day, Dio's hand reaching out from the rubble to grab him, drinking his blood, and turning him into a zombie.
