I think people just forget that Araki is an artist first and a writer second. Dude isn't Oda, he doesn't put in 300 chapter long foreshadowing, he gets an idea for a sweet panel and draws it.If anything I would say that the reason it's so common for people to spread Jojo Misinfo is that they expect Araki to write like a more traditional writer only for him to give us a recipe for potatoes during the climax of a part.

The issue with Fugo is not that his stand is "strong," the issue is that it's limited in how it can approach any given combat scenario. The only fight that Fugo is in (against Man in the Mirror), the entire fight becomes a matter of positioning in order to trap the guy in with Purple Haze. It's interesting as for a single fight, but imagine another fight with Fugo's skillset. It would be the same issue all over again as with Jotaro in Part 3. Sure, there are interesting tweaks to the scenario every time, but most always the fight becomes a matter of how to close the gap between himself and the enemy. And Fugo's ability cannot even target a single person, but instead everything in it's immediate vicinity. That is creatively limiting. Fugo being written instead to leave the plot instead of outright dying actually makes the story better. It shows how genuinely terrifying Diavolo is, and with a more impactful effect. Fugo outright *decides* to not go along, which is more meaningful a thing to have happen rather than having Diavolo take that choice away from him by killing him. I like Fugo. Many people like Fugo. Araki likes Fugo. The issue is not the character, but his lack of potential for unique utility in fights. Jotaro is at least versatile enough with simply the ability to punch things very hard, because he can at least choose to punch a specific thing. One more thing, Okuyasu walking around in Part 4, as you guys point out, *is* balanced. The guy is borderline retarded, which hinders his ability to use his stand to its fullest effectiveness. It's balanced by his very nature. In contrast, Fugo is, I recall, the most intelligent of the entire party in Part 5, or at least highly intelligent. It would be pretty lame to have fights revolve around Fugo issuing orders that would have to be followed to the letter in order for them to work. Tl;dr: Purple Haze is too creatively limiting. Hence the need for Fugo's removal from the story. This makes perfect sense to me, anyway. Anyone think any differently?

The plan for Fugo that Araki originally had in mind was MUCH different: he was actually going to turn out to be a spy for Diavolo and outright betray Passione, and he would get into a fight with (and probably get killed by) Giorno. Araki was fighting depression at the time of writing Part 5, though, so he scrapped it bc it was too upsetting. (Most people think Cioccolata was created as a replacement for this whole evil!Fugo arc, since Green Day and Purple Haze have similar powers)

One of my most hated misconceptions was around the universe reset, but it's not about Part 7. The thing that I hate about it is that people for the longest time just did not fucking understand how Made In Heaven worked. Everyone always said "Oh, Made In Heaven changed all of the characters in older Parts, everyone is entirely different, Part 4's happy ending is completely moot", etc. Like, no. They're SO fucking clear that Made In Heaven changes people who die, and nobody else. That was literally Pucci's plan, it's so baffling that this was so widespread for a long time when the plan wouldn't make any sense otherwise.

As someone who was a fan before 2012, I never knew that these were "misinformation." They were just theories that fans had. And maybe sometimes they'd assert them as if they were confirmed, the same way people do when they feel strongly about a theory. And unfortunately, Araki coming out and saying they aren't true won't dispel them, because you would absolutely expect a writer to come out and defend their story as having been planned all along or defending their editors/publisher who they still work for. Also, every story exists in an author's head before it's taken to paper, and in the process, details can be constantly changing. As a result, it's possible for readers to glean information that "isn't true," but the reason they thought of it is because the author actually did at one point, too. The only way to know for sure is just asking them, though, and they can say whatever the Hell they want. Like I could write a story where a family of 8 are inspired by the JoJos and you can see it in their hair, but after trying to draw them for awhile I might get sick of Josuke's pompadour and change it to dreadlocks. Then that gets published, and if someone points out how it looks like I was inspired by the JoJos, and just changed Josuke's hair, I could say, "Nah lol," and then people would be making videos about how this popular rumor is totally false because I said so...even though it's true.

I think one of the main reasons why so many people want to believe in the Josuke theory is that in the flashback the face of the saviour is obscured by shadow, and in the anime his voice is replaced with text, as if his face and voice are going to be some kind of big reveal later. Really, the reason why these things were censored though was to add to the idea of this person being a general symbol of goodness in Josuke's mind, rather than a fleshed-out character. Stylistic choices like these can be fairly confusing to some viewers who tend to take the media they consume more literally, which I would argue is possibly one of the main reasons why Jojo's has so much misinformation. As a side note, I find it funny that the pompadour hair style is now known to so many western people as the 'Jouske hair' lol

What really got me though was they decided not to voice act him since his voice was actually unknown like his identity as a whole, but I found it super sus while watching as I realized that if it _was_ Josuke from the future then they'd have all the reason in the world not to give them the same voice as it actually would be, and then the fact that Josuke never found him sounding like it was building up to the question of whether he'd die in the past or go back when the time came. In between that reaction of mine and Bites the Dust's introduction I got accidentqlly got myself spoiled that Kira rewinds time but wasn't sure if it was a real thing, only for it to actually happen, leaving me waiting for what kind of shenanigans he'd do with his time looping ability to get current Josuke to interact with his old self, only for the series to end with none of that in sight.

I don't remember where I heard this, but I remember hearing somewhere that the battle against Cioccolata and Secco was written up by Araki as a replacement for the traitor arc with Fugo. So instead of battling against Fugo, the main characters battle against Cioccolata instead. This is the reason why his character introduction is so last-minute and why his stand ability is so similar to Purple Haze. Don't know if this is true of not.

If anything I think it’s a misconception that the ending of part 6 is a new universe. It’s the original universe it’s just without puccis existence the OG universe had to compensate for it. Which resulted in the lives of characters ending up somewhat differently. I’ve seen a lot of bizzare theories in which they assume parts 1-5 had changed or that the other jojos were different too, which makes no fucking sense because Joleyn and Jotaro don’t exist without Dios fuckery of Jonathan’s life.

I was a part of the member of Haruno gaslight incident, it mostly happened in a FaceBook club called Jojolion Posting (it has gone down now tho most member move into Jojoland posting) and those time was fucking amazing they made a goddamn motion figure and market it as a secret figure that only exist in Japan and also Haruno is famous of using a rifle gun and there's like 10 panles that were made for Haruno, one of it is replacing the poor tom getting sniped by WoU (unknown at that time) and soemone photoshop a panel of Haruno holding a rifle hiding in Higashikata house hold and say "Josuke will never know I was here", ohh and the fake mostion figure comes with the rifle too

Why is it so hard for people to admit that the anime portrayed Josuke's flashback confusingly? It was like 2 pages in the manga, but they stretched it out to over 3 minutes in the anime. When TV viewers see a dramatic, highly-detailed 3 minute scene with a ton of unanswered questions, it's generally reasonable to assume it will tie into something later in the series. Add to this that Tomoko's voice was heard audibly in the flashback, but text was shown on the screen to represent the Savior talking, and you start to wonder why they don't want us to hear his voice. Maybe because we would recognize it. The anime staff could have avoided any confusion by portraying a unique voice for the character. Not to mention the obvious, that the Savior's facial structure and body build are nearly indistinguishable from Josuke's. I'm not saying it was ever intended by Araki that Josuke would save himself. But to sit here with the power of hindsight and research, mocking people for an entirely reasonable impression of the scene, is in poor taste.

The big idea that ruins josuke's savior would be if josuke's savior was himself or any other JoJo. Yeah yeah, they're all good we get that. It completely robs the idea that this person wasn't BORN special to be the ultimate savior for Josuke or anything, he's just a guy that helped them when they were in need. Not for anything special, just because. And not from a stance of needing to help others, seeing him alone and beaten up on the road in the middle of night suggests to us that he isn't super rich and guilty about that or something like that.

Araki has a style of improvisation that leads me to this "araki forgot" moments constanstly, it doesnt happen that often with other manga Akari's writing is really good, is always consistent and very interesting, but i cant help but feel that he has a lot of cool ideas of things to draw first and look for a explanation later Araki is sometimes weak at foreshadowing, it was interesting when he did it with jotato's power, but sometimes badly used like giorno's powers

There is one part about DIO and his ability to use Hermit Purple based on the last explanation that doesn't quite work. If it's essentially a Stand visualization of Hamon, then DIO would have blown his arm off when he used it, as shown by Straitzo killing himself. Even if you go with the explanation that Jonathan's body wasn't fully under control and therefore not fully vampiric in structure, it would still kill all the vampire cells it touched and his arm wasn't exactly smoking.

Hermit purple is not made of hamon and does not produce hamon, It is a perfect CONDUCTOR for hamon. DIO using hermit purple makes perfect sense because DIO is not using hamon, it would have absolutely zero reason to hurt dio.

Actually, Purple Haze isn't an uncontrollable stand, as Fugo actúa summoned it in the Iluso fight with the purpose of directly fighting him It only goes berserk because his user isn't in the same mirror dimension as him, but he gains control of it later in the fight under command

I got a nice little theory about DIO's stand. I believe he actually has all of Joestars powers combined. Stopping time from Jotaro, Hermit Purple from Joseph, flesh bud from Holly maybe (her stand is some kind of roots, similar to the things with flesh buds going out of DIO's hair) healing others from Josuke (when he fixed Pucci's deformed finger). He doesn't have Giorno's power because it's his son and we now that a child doesn't have the same ability as their parent. He also doesn't have Jolyne abilities because she was born after him obtaining the stand

As a previous mod of the phantom blood 2007 archives i wanna clear up the battle tendency movie rumour: The intiial rumour is there was a stinger at the end of the movie (which is fairly certain to not be real) and the "sketches" which are actually part of a special recap bundled with the part 3 ova. However recently there was a lost vhs tape found of appp which showed they did have interest in making at leats parts 1-5, but the initial rumours were still false.

I think people assume there must be an answer because in everything else there is always an answer Thats a good example of araki doing something insanely weird and different, the reason I dont love this series like you do is that theres a lot of bad examples though that really undermine the plot like characters randomly disappearing and conflicts resolved through bullshit
