Is JoJo Siwa okay? This girl has been going OFF THE RAILS lately and the drama just keeps getting crazier. Between becoming one of America’s innocent childhood sweethearts to getting “blackout drunk” at Disney’s Epcot, touching herself on stage in front of her underage fans, being the self-proclaimed inventor of gay pop, AND selling a total of 90 million bows to her young fans.. and then completely switching her entire persona to something a child should probably stay far away from. I had sort of forgotten about JoJo from Dance Moms. My daughter was a teenager during that era, but now a senior in college. All of a sudden she’s everywhere on KZbin, etc and I’m asking the same thing as you…”where the hell is your mom… or someone to advise her on so many “NOT SUCH GOOD IDEAS…” I’m one that thinks the word narcissist is far overused (welp, you just called her the same as I was typing this), but I truly believe the narcissism is strong with this one. It’s for sure, next level. To wear clothes with your own picture, to wrap your car with images of yourself, to be fascinated with what people say about you/her on social media, only to later call them out…at first I was like she needs interviewing 101 and then I realized it was far more serious than that.

Her mother has exploited her for fame ever since she could walk so I wouldn't be surprised if Jojo had a weird view of herself. Her whole life has been cameras after cameras, and it feels like she doesn't know how to just exist. Like she literally went from one extreme to the other (pink bows, glitter -> no bows, dark aesthetic, mature, still a lot of glitter).. I don't think anyone should diagnose people they don't know, but her upbringing has definitely affected her development and she's trying to gain back those years she missed. I honestly think that she should completely go offline but we all know that is not happening.

Jojo can say that although the environment was abusive, etc., she still was able to learn or takeaway positives from the experience, she goes to the opposite extreme and rationalizes and excuses said behaviors. To be fair she did make a huge deal publicising that she wasn’t for kids anymore. That was part of her press tour. She didn’t ever say she wrote Karma. Honestly the girl can perform, you can’t deny it. Not singing but presence talent and skill. She doesn’t have much artistic vision, she just needs a creative director and people around her to say no. She’s trained her whole life, she’s an athlete. She’s really good at dealing with fame. I remember Alyssa Milano going from working on "Who's the Boss" (television series) to playing a seductress to break out of her "childhood persona". It's NOT a new thing in music NOR in film/television. It happens all of the time with child stars. Jodie Foster is one of the first people I remember making that change (yes, I'm old). There are plenty of actors too. Mickey Rooney (again...I'm old) went from being a child star to being a bigger character actor. Ron Howard from Opie on the Andy Griffith Show to Richie on Happy Days to being a director. She's NOT the first to "come out" or "transition" into an adult star. Heck...Joan Jett did too (she was a teen when she started her music career). It's just bizarre.

I started dancing at 2. I'm flat footed and have EDS so the Dr suggested it to strengthen my legs. The hair dye thing is insane to me though. At 2 I was a strawberry blonde. But by 9 my hair was dark auburn. By 27 my hair was black. Unless it was temporary color I wasn't allowed to dye my hair until after I was 16, and bleaching and black dye (anything that would severely damage my hair or take bleach to remove was a no lol)

The rebrand may have worked if they had taken the fans into consideration. She knew she had young fans, and her next target group could have been the older ‘tweens’ and younger teens. Her performances and music ought to have been suitable for this demographic before moving on to a more adult content. Transition could have been sustained for a few years while JoJo allowed herself to naturally evolve. This would have given JoJo time to grow up, thus giving her career the authenticity it presently lacks.
