Swoop has done several really good deep dives on the whole JoJo situation and basically this girl has never been anything than a product to be commercialized by the adults around her which is just ick. I have pity for the childhood she could’ve had if her mom not wanted to “create the next Hannah Montana” but it’s caused her to grow into a really atrocious human that projects her mistreatment and abuse onto those around her such as the girls in OMG POP. Whether attention is good or bad, she goes for it because it’s still attention and that means money. Colleen Ballinger was practically her mentor, she was verbally abused on television-girl was raised on abuse and grooming yet no one seems to understand that. You can hate her for her actions, sure, but yall need to understand she wasn’t born a bad person. She was taught that.
@Moraca101Ай бұрын
@RocksterStudios-tt3eh I was abused from 2 years old. All the way until I turned 22. By then I knew people around me were hurting me, I was just unable to move out for a while. At 24 I found out that my own mother knew I had a treatable, but deadly if left alone, condition and planned to watch me rot from the inside out. I was taught that being beaten and screamed at is LOVE. To be neglected is LOVE. And even then, I knew by the time I turned 16 that it was wrong and wanted out. I had a free home that I knew was killing me and eventually got enough savings to take that leap, knowing that once I left, I would never be able to return. I do hurt people. I wont say I dont. I learned that abuse was love and sometimes I dont realize how bad an action is. The moment that someone says "why did you do that? That really hurt...", I am immediately horrified and try to rip that rotten part out of me. It hurts. But its necessary. Do victims become abusers? Yes. But that still makes them abusers. And it takes a toddler to see that making children dance while bleeding through their bellybutton and literally working them until they CANT BREATHE is abusive and evil. Mental illness and abuse can explain your actions, but not excuse them. My empathy stopped the moment Jojo repeated her abuse and then covered it up.

Now she feels entitled to receive everything she was promised, she's working with the system she was exploited by because on the second half of it when she comes into the role of manager it's all gravy. I have family who were used by their older family members and they start doing it once they get old enough to have a role change, and they adopt the patterns of behavior because they finally get to have "fun", as defined by the abuse, at the expense of the next generation. As someone who is the same age as some of the girls on Dance Moms, I watched it as a kid. And there were so many instances where the moms said the clothes were too skimpy but Abby insisted on them. There were risqué dances she made the children do. She has caused many of the girls to develop emotional stress and harm the likes of which Jojo and Abby demean because… what? Because she made them famous? Sounds a lot like Dan to me personally. She’s the Dan of the dance world.

In fact, I was a stagehand through an entire drag tournament and even got to meet some decent drag celebrities. Mind you, all of these performers are adults, well into their 20’s through 50’s. At most when they had a show, they would spend six hours altogether; Three getting ready, maybe one hour going through a cycle of performers at the event, and then a couple of hours after the event to network and take pictures with fans. It is a *full time job*. And even those six hours can *really* take a toll on the queens, kings, and other performers. They’re *adults*. A child doing 10 hours a day is pure insanity. What angers me the most about Jojo is that she's only about 2 years younger than me, and it was NOT HARD to know those actions were wrong. She spent more time online than me, I WAS BRAINWASHED BY FAR-RIGHT MORMONS FROM A YOUNG AGE, and I still figured out how to treat people with respect. She has no excuses. She had access to the same information I did, and I ended that cycle of insanity. Instead, Jojo actively makes choices that harm and neglect children, and she defends people who harm and neglected children before her. Jojo, is out of excuses, and out of time. She exploited those kids on her show, and she defends the people who showed her how to do it. STOP GIVING HER MONEY, STOP BUYING HER STUFF. The only attention I want to see on Jojo Siwa is legal attention or exposès. After everything she's done, that's all she deserves.

She is selfish. All she cares about is that she makes money off of the very acts that put others in harms way.

In competition dance it is actually quite common to have weekend events where you are dancing from 7 in the morning until 11 pm at night. I would look up conventions like Nuvo, or NYCDA. I used to do them most weekends, although it seems jarring from an outside perspective. Dancing in a competition level is how most professional dancers start in my own experience from the age of 5 I was at the dance studio everyday for at least 3-4 hours (this increases to around 40+ hours per week as you get older) Dancers are able to decide how much time they dedicate but most choose to make dance a main focus of their time. Jojo's hours are actually tame compared to many conventions and events I've gone to. She still sucks but I think you should research and understand the dance industry before using it as evidence.
@ChaoticfairyyАй бұрын
Excelling in any sport takes a lot of time but dance specifically (besides rhythmic gymnastics) requires an amount of dedication and discipline that consumes every aspect of your life. I would suggest watching documentaries like First Position or this fictional series Dance Academy which I think is a good representation of dance day to day.

Jojos mom said in dance moms like a decade ago that she “saw jojo as a star from the moment she was born and start pursuing that for jojo from then on” (very paraphrased off memory) so the thing about Jojo seeing Miley and wanting that isn’t entirely true. Like her remembering it that way makes sense as she couldn’t even walk by the time her mom was trying to find a path to getting jojo to be “a star”. It’s honestly very sad.
@annataymond9529Ай бұрын
I’m baffled by the fact that people are surprised. This girl doesn’t even understand that SHE is a victim, of course she’s not going to act like other people are. This is one of the problems with being in denial about your own abuse, it puts you at such a greater risk of perpetuating or tolerating it. She never had an appropriate relationship with an adult as a child, so she doesn’t even realize how weird it all is. She has no semblance of an idea of normal or healthy. This is why she has literally always made me uncomfortable, even in her “non problematic” era, because something like this was always going to happen. If she can’t recognize her own abusers as abusers, (her parents, Abbey, and later Colleen) she’s probably not going to improve.

She was the only one from Dance Mom's that hasn't said what they went through was bad, and she defended Colleen because of their friendship. It feels like she is subconsciously not accepting it was wrong because then she has to deal with the fact that everyone in her life brought her up in an explotative situation that they normalised for her entire life. Not trying to infantilise or say she doesn't hold any responsibility for what she has put others through, but possibly she hasn't had the wake up moment that these things are not how you treat others or do for money 🤷🏻♀️ This has been her whole life, its a bit like she's brainwashed
