Those he believed cared for him turned out to be indifferent, and he pushed away the one person who genuinely tried to help, all in a desperate attempt to gain the love he never had. Same here. That is why i want to believe this movie will deconstruct that aspect.
@sophiag6124 ай бұрын
If you’re confused you need to rewatch and actually think about the movie beyond it being a “Joker” movie.
@Mytelefe4 ай бұрын
Not many people "idolized" the joker character. They just empathized with this tragic origin story instead of straight up denouncing it because it was a man becoming a villain. The idolization part comes from people trying to paint a narrative and strawman portions of the audiences they detest.

@rafaelmanzo94974 ай бұрын
Actually I can confirm..... Gaga is in the movie throughout. Lots of songs too. What got cut is her PLOT. It's like they kept 80% of her songs, and 60% of her scenes. But some of Harley's story is just...missing. You'll SEE her a lot... you just won't really understand her fully by the end.

Yes there are disenfranchised men, but it's because they're confronted with the fact they don't get to be at the top while everyone else is pressed, socially and financially, to be secondary to them. I don't think catering to this type of soreness is what needs to happen. Bolstering men doesn't have to come at the cost of others, but unfortunately, that's what these "disenfranchised men" want to see. A lot of young men are gravitating towards modern day conservatism, and it's partially because women will no longer cater to them (for example) and they would very much like to have that female indentured servitude labor back in the home. We can't go back to creating culture catering to desires like this, and should not go back just to make some box office cash.
@lordlubu30294 ай бұрын
Bolstering other groups shouldn't come at the cost of men either though, people need to stop making this a "us vs them" thing. Plenty of men have legit real grievances and wrongs done to them by the system, just like plenty of women, Black people, immigrants, LGBTQ etc... have, we are all people

Love the makeup! I saw the film last night and enjoyed it. I think people will come around to the singing when they realize that the songs occur when they are in the fantasy. The songs are jarring the viewer out of reality, that’s why it seems to stop the film dead in their tracks I do agree that the film is about tearing Arthur down, not as idolized as in the first one.

Lawrence Sher’s cinematography in these two movies is wild to me, the framing of Joker and the color palette is one part One for the Heart and one part The Dark Knight Returns. So much of the film looks immediately iconic.
@VidtopiaEntertainment4 ай бұрын
This is another prime example of why modern creatives should not have FULL control on a project or at the very least should have a producer or the studio to tell them no. Todd Phillips might’ve funnily enough just pulled a Megalopolis with it being all artsy but a total mess and the fact the studio approved this in its final form is just insane. The fact that Looney Tunes Back in Action and Showdown in Little Tokyo had more studio interference than Joker 2 just goes to show that WB is a complete joke of a company. no pun intended

I feel my thoughts on the film mainly align with yours. There was a lot I enjoyed about the film, there was just more that I wanted out of it. I wanted more actual Harley and Joker, more scenes from them like the fire scene where they got out together. Didn’t love the whole Harley essentially becoming an abuser thing, but still loved what Gaga brought to the film despite what she was given (loved your Wanda comparison). I enjoyed most of the music but would’ve cut like 4-5 songs. Can’t wait to discuss the ending! Thanks for your review! ❤

I didn’t have a problem with the music, but I did have a problem with it being a trial movie. As soon as we got out of the trial it picked up soooo well and I wish we got was more out of that because that’s when you can see Arthur, Harley, and the public’s true intentions and I think we could’ve gotten more of that and it felt a lot more like the magic the first one had. what do you think?

Yeah well I never honestly thought there should have been a sequel anyway and in fact I like the fact they they are putting the Joker in his place and making him unlikeable he is a viliian remeber you can't justify what he did in the first film, Also if he not being Joker than what is he?? This is a cahrcter piece that we already got, one and done,and to me this movie need to lean back to more comic book Joker more mayhem and just more Joker, sounds like more character pieces and a crappy Harley and not Gaga fault by the sounds of it 🤦. Thanks for the review Grace 👍

@@Hat_With_A_Hat_OnNo you definitely can’t justify it, but you can at least understand his motivations. I think that’s what the director focused too much time on in this movie, trying to explain that dynamic despite it not being a good enough premise to base an entire sequel around.
