Okay, just going to leave this here since some people don't want to have to waste 100 hours playing P5 and another 500 to gain a basic understanding of why Joker is so insane. To start Joker is a wildcard, that is never really explained but what it means is that he defies fate itself. Anything that is supposed to affect him or happen to him is not a guarantee but a possibility, meaning even if Joker was fated to die by the universe itself? He could find a way to bypass that (think how in JoJo Pucci explained that fate can bend but never change like how Emporio is forced to go into his spirit room... Yeah Joker could just ignore that.) which makes him really difficult for reality warpers to deal with. Next is his clothes, while stylish they also prevent the reality warping effects of the metaverse to take hold, preventing him from suffering changes to his physic or metal state. Joker has alot of personas which actually make him immune to ALOT of elements, like light, fire, ice but even physical or "gun" which is more like piercing. Joker cannot be manipulated by reality warping, this is tied to his fate defining abilities and clothes but he can survive and resist changes to reality itself. For example when the god of control Yaldabaoth made the phantom tieves be ERASED FEOM EXISTENCE they were in turn not erased. Now this can be chalked up to the Velvet room being a serperate dimension but as seen in persona 5 royal when Maruki changed realiry into a "utopia" where everyone is happy and forgot about their pain? Joker remembered all of it and was not affected, even when he accepted the changes in reality to change it to the "true reality" Joker had a knowing smirk in the bad ending which suggest that he was still unaffected. While almighty attacks can bypass universal laws sinful shell is a step up like most other "awakened" persona. Sinful shell can kill a god, in this case it was the god of control a god that could alter perception to such a degree that it became true, meaning he theoretically could have made himself seem invincible which then would have come true (was never stated to be true but it could have happened) and sinful shell one shot him, meaning that anything that alters space, time or reality cannot withstand nor stop the bullet. The only time we saw Joker actively influenced by reality warping was during his fight with Maruki where he could hinder the phantom thives from attacking with a specific type of attack, how he did it exactly is a bit strange because it is show that he uses his perception manipulation but the character's are shown to use the move and then revert but be blocked from using it (for example Ryuji says:"I can't? But... Why?" Which implies Maruki somehow blocked it off rather than make himself immune, much like a silence skill) So basically Joker is a hard counter to reality warpers, now his actual combat skills are explained by death battle and I think I explained enough already, my apologies if this may seem a bit long but death battle gave alot of strange reasons as to why Jokee is immune to GER like that his friend's could just recharge his will (which isn't nessecarly untrue but Joker is a being which will is literally unbreakable).

and lets not forget that many gods in persona are so powerful. that they view all of reality as fiction. and also that every persona is as strong as its real life mythological counterpart. persona scaling gets fucking insane when you dig into it. also thank you for typing out all this information explaining why joker is fucking busted

Love the explanation. But Joker's ability to defy fate is more because of him being the Trickster rather than being a wild card. The wildcard can help you defy a predetermined fate, but that depends on the user's bonds because the wildcard grants you the ability to turn your bonds into power. Some wildcards haven't been able to defy their fate of losing because of not having bonds (Akechi). The Trickster instead simply allows you to defy fate and ruin by the sake of being the Trickster
