I didn't think she was that special the first time I saw her but she's grown on me when I've rewatched it. She'll get compared to the version from Batman Returns, but that Tim Burton version was more wild and animal like. He did the same with the Penguin...This Catwoman has this long slow style of speech where she sometimes sort of hisses which I liked. Physically she looked the part as a cat burglar but I'm not sure how believable some her fight sequences were, because the character appeared quite skinny but she's also meant to be throwing around these street thugs and knocking people out with one punch. I don't know.... I think of all the actresses in the tribology she had the best chemistry with Bale. The final scene is really satisfying too, the way the clean slate wasn't just for her but also for Bruce Wayne.

Bruce traveled the world for 7 years with no resources in Batman Begins and then got trained to be the ultimate ninja by the League. Ain't hard picturing him sneaking on planes and boats and stuff. And he could probably sneak in Gotham like those Special Forces did or by ice since he learned how to walk on ice in BB and we see him walking on ice when he talks to Gordon. And it took him about 23 days to get back since Lucius said the bomb would go off in 23 days, then the next scene shows Bruce escaping, then when Bruce is back he says the bomb would go off tomorrow. Bruce could find Selina easy, since she said in the scene that it was her neighborhood and we know Blake dropped Bruce off at her house before, so Bruce knows to find her there. Plus, he's the world's greatest detective, duh...

I forgot to mention you can't make the argument that in BB, Bruce only got back to Gotham through Alfred. The reason the argument fails is because in BB, after the scene where Bruce burned his wallet and gave his coat to the hobo, we see him then sneak into a boat in Gotham Bay to leave the U.S. So clearly, Bruce has the means to travel intercontinental all by himself. If you guys need any more plot explanations for TDKR, you guys should go on imdb and go on the TDKR FAQ.

Yep! That is first class acting by Anne Hathaway. Most people watch superhero movies to see big loud action scenes and tend to overlook the more subtle dramatic scenes like this one. Glad you noticed. The story of Selina Kyle's redemption is really beautiful in this movie. She really changes A LOT! All because Bruce Wayne dared to believe in her.

Bruce can see that Selina has a good heart when he sees her rescue the little boy from the thugs, and he knows that she only betrayed him to save herself and not because she wanted to screw him over, its the consequence of her lifestyle and she wants and needs a way out of it which Bruce can provide, too many people do not understand this and Bruce makes it clear that he knows that there is more to her than being a thief, she actually cares about the poor people and those that have nothing, shes not evil only desperate to escape her life.

I think the reason why Bruce felt for Selina is because she represent not only his ultimate goal, but also his parents's goal; to give the poor who made mistakes a second chance. Selina is a thief, but she is not evil, she was born in Gotham, and had to make a living. Bruce telling her he sees good on her sounds more like something Thomas would say.

Ok Bruce had 22 or 23 days to return to Gotham after he escaped the pit because he escaped the day he saw the special forces hanging from the bridge, and that day Fox said the bomb goes off in 23 days. Bruce probably still had some money saved in case of emergencies based on being a billionaire and Batman. I only have 11 grand in the bank and I have money stored in case of emergencies, so it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out. He could taken a plane to an area close to Gotham and snuck aboard a cargo ship or truck that carries supplies into Gotham. Or he could've signalled the Bat, because he repaired the Auto Pilot, to pick him up during the night. Or he could've drove most of the way and still snuck aboard a ship or truck. You see people there's no plot hole here, there are many excuses for him returning, just use your imagination, and remember Christopher Nolan doesn't make fuck ups like that.

That point is pretty stupid. I'm not leaving anything to imagination, it just takes time to figure it out but most people when they say "how did he get back so quick?" Are pretty dumb. Just because he escaped the pit and was in Gotham 10 minuted later for the film doesn't mean it took him actually 10 minuted to get back. The fact is that I could've gotten back quicker than 22 or 23 days even if I didn't have any money or transportation waiting for me. Every "plot hole" for this film can be explained pretty easily. There's quite a few things left to the imagination for TDK as well, and I don't think Christopher Nolan would screw up especially for his greatest accomplishment, The Dark Knight Trilogy.

Have you noticed all the time the music portrays & conveys the current scene & its motion so well. e.g the tune when Batman is standing with an iPad in his hand, with cops surrounding him. e.g when Talia tells Bane to not kill him, and blahblah. e.g Bruce's rise out of the pit. e.g Batman vs Bane #2 e.g when Blake goes to rescue Jim Gordon e.g The little boy singing, such a angelic voice conscripting chaos.

He is so in love with her. She gave the data that ruined him, she betrayed him giving him away to Bane to get his back broken and imprisioned, yet he comes back saying he sees more in her... crazy, stupid love is what brought batman down. I dont blame him, she is hot.

The one thing that just hit me rewatching this scene, Bane and his men knew Bruce was Batman, there's the literal scene of "no need to stand on ceremony here...Mr Wayne"......yet now they take him in with the rest of the captives like "Ha we caught Bruce Wayne" as if he's not Batman and shouldn't have been taken straight to Bane.

You can tell by her facial expression when she first hears him that she’s either remorseful and glad he’s alive, or simply terrified haha. Pretty obvious how he got back. In Batman Begins, he traveled the world for 7 years without any resources. This movie didn't show how he returned because it doesn't need to spoon-feed people. We know he could travel world-wide in Batman Begins. He had 23 days to get back and the CIA who were less trained got back in. Nobody ever brings that up, huh?

Batman in this setting isn't supposed to be a superhuman; otherwise, it would defeat the very idea of this setting, something you don't understand "because he's the Batman". And to answer your question: CIA operatives are trained in many forms of lethal martial arts, sabotage, diplomacy, and survivability. These training sessions are clearly no joke, and you need to understand that this isn't comic Batman whose training was even more hardcore; in this setting, Bruce was only well-versed in ninjutsu and engineering.

The events of the first 2 movies are clearly in the realm of fantasy. The CIA are no match for Batman. Batman Begins makes it clear that the Leafue of Shadows can take down entire governments and civilisations. This film makes it clear that the CIA are thoroughly outmatched. That is established in the opening scene. They get ambushed and taken out The next time we see them is when Bane kills the captain of the special forces. He crushes his windpipe with absolute ease. The CIA operatives and military are absolutely no match for Bane's League of Shadows, whereas Batman is more than a match. This is made clear several times. In real life, the CIA are a bunch of hacks. Just a bunch of power monger skinny fats in corporate suits. You watch too many movies if you think CIA are capable fighters. Basic military guy could take out a CIA operative. So whatever combat "training" the CIA have, the film strongly establishes and affirms that Batman >>> CIA. In fact, the film goes further and shows that Batman > SWAT and military. There's no government forces capable of dealing with the threat. That's why the government pretty much abandons Gotham, hence Gordan saying "it means we're on our own".

Adactus L Vox like Dent said is Wayne Mansion in Gotham city. An Alfred mentioned the tunnels. Used during the Underground Railroad used to smuggle slaves out of the city. If you pay attention through the trilogy it all comes together.

Plus if Gotham is laid out anything like NYC, the airports are not in the island Bane isolated from the rest of Gotham anymore than they are in Manhattan. So there is probably more than one entry point back to Gotham. Getting on to the island is probably easy enough for Batman after that.

Magnificent scene of strength and courage to forgive and be a better man instead of a bitter man which could of been easy to do considering that it was the Cat woman that beguiled and trapped Batman. The only thing that would of made this scene any better would of been had Bruce responded to "sorry to disappoint" with a classic Bruce Wayne smile when Hathaway said I thought they killed you.

I love this trilogy. There's so much to pick out and piece, so much adds up. It baffles me people label what they couldn't connect as a "plothole". I mean sure ppl ask how did Bruce get back to Gotham in TDKR, but they never ask how he constantly disappears out of thin air on Rachel and Gordon in the first 2 films!! To me both are just as impossible yet ppl prefer to overlook the latter! But in the end do I care? No! Coz it all fits in Nolan's universe.
