All the times I've heard the original and I never thought of this. Jolene is not the problem here and just because she could take Dolly's man doesn't mean she would. The line about "what you really think of me" broke my heart because I've known women as attractive as Jolene is described who are absolute sweethearts who would never hurt anyone but about whom such things are also wrongly assumed.
