Ingredients:
-Lamb meat
- 3 yellow onions and 1 red onion
- 1 Whole garlic
- 1 Green, red, yellow peppers
- 2 Tomatoes
- 3 Jalapenos
- 3 Basil leaves
- Dijon mustard
- Salt & Black pepper
- Washed Jasmine rice
Instructions:
1. Fry your meat (you can use chicken or fish too)
2. Once the meat is brown, add the yellow onions, and one chopped habanero pepper
3. Add in your initial seasoning that you like. I put chopped parsley, green peppers, and maagi cubes. This is where the flavor for the dish comes from
4. Once everything is incorporated, add water about 1/2 of the pot. Let is boil for about 10 minutes. Taste the broth as this is where the flavor is.
5. Add the washed rice, peppers. Cover rice and put heat to low-medium and let the rice cook for about 15 minutes. Also, taste and adjust salt if needed.
6. Check the rice and stir. If rice is not done, cover and let it cook for 5 minutes more.
7. Once the rice is soft, you now have Thieb Yapp/Benechin/Jollof rice/ one-pot rice, however you would like to call it!
Toppings:
1. Chopped the red, yellow, green peppers, red onion into small cubes
2. Prepare a bowl with 1/2 cup of dijon mustard, a dash of black pepper, 1 cube of maagi and 2 tbsp of olive oil
3. Mix the vegetables in the sauce. When you are done plating the rice, you will add this topping.
4. Optional to add boiled eggs
