Jolly Giant Creek - Part 1

Part 1 of a journey that begins at Jolly Giant Creek's headwaters, and ends at Humboldt Bay - a distance of almost 4 miles. Part 1 covers the first half of the creek, ending at the campus of Cal Poly Humboldt. With special guest, Mark Andre.

A surprise and delight to watch this fun and educational video on the Jolly Giant Creek. I attended Humboldt State in the early 80s and loved walking through the Arcata Forest. Now the longing in my heart to return to the forest has been quenched-for now. I love Ray's enthusiasm for getting this "Jolly adventure underway." Thank you so much for filming this labor of love. So much integrity. Looking forward to Part 2 - hopefully you can rescue Jake. Keep up the great work!

At Arcata High we worked on Jolly Giant Creek rehab back in 1990. Mr Armin-Hoiland's Biology class.

So, looks like the old wooden sluce is all gone? And you don't seem to notice the rock? The City seems to have put a lot of money into making it a place. Used to be where I rode my bike and enjoyed the 6 foot tall skunkcabbage up above the pond.
