Of course I will do the recommended tummy time exercises and have her sitting most of the time but a jolly jumper once a day for maybe 15-20mins isn’t going to delay my daughter as much as your say. Lastly the baby bouncer is amazing when used properly and not as a tool to have a break from your baby. Its like going to gym, if you over use dead weights, you will cause problems and not get benefits. Its the same concept. Our baby girl, 1 month premi. Shes has been sitting up on her own and pulling herself to a stand since 3 months. She has even been walking aided since 3.5 months. The only training she has ever had is the bouncer and myself and her mother helping her. Our dr is blown away. Dummys can be very bad for your child when used to just shut them up..but when used properly they can be very handy, for example, used when your baby has sore gums from teething, they can bite on it which helps. Our daughter doesnt even suck on her dummy, she only ever wants it for biting. What Im saying is people are using these baby tools wrongly. Which yes causes problems. Jumpers are not a good way to have fun. I once held a baby that had spent so much time in a jumper that when you held him he continued to jump up and down while standing in your lap. He wasn’t interested in anything else. In a group of mother’s friends no one wanted to hold this baby. It was just too strenuous. Just don’t use jumpers. If you have one, swallow your pride and get rid of it. We all know you would never intentionally harm your baby. Parents have to learn to admit mistakes instead of making excuses for them.

I am just curious that if these devices have proven evidence that they are so bad for babies development how are they allowed in the market ? Why there is not even a sign on these devices to bring awareness ? Usually markets are regulated in a way that if a device or product might induce bad result in short/long term that information shall be on the package. Like cigarettes or alcohol. And have never noticed a warning sign that , let’s say, a bouncer , could delay babies development.

When I watched a little girl we used her jolly jumper one time per day for 10 or 15 minutes and she got so much joy out of it. We never left her alone. I think, like someone else commented, the trick is to leave baby flat-footed. A lot of babies naturally try to walk on their toes by the way, I’m a nanny and I have seen several who tiptoed before they walked. And they did not have jolly jumpers.

She loves to stand and walk and already pull on us to do so. She can even stand by herself for a few seconds... Should I be worried about her spine development? Is sitting discouraging her tummy muscle to develop? She doesn't like being in her knee either so she can't crawl yet, but she can pivot to different directions on her tummy.

Hi @Ashlynn I had a look at this product and it is a bit like an exersaucer which is better then a baby walker but still not ideal. In this video I go through the pros and cons of exercausers kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKjSi62qfpqKac0 It might be helpful!😊

Hi! First time to actually ask a question from you. If I may ask, how old can I use high chair for my baby? Thanks!
@EmmaHubbard3 жыл бұрын
Hi Elisha it really depends on the high chair you have. Most babies can sit in a high chair at 6 months or once they start siting independently. If your baby is not yet sitting independently and your high chair has the ability to recline you should be able to use the high chair with it in slight recline for play. If you are looking at starting solids with your baby in the high chair make sure your baby is sitting upright- so the high chair is not in recline (lying back) as this is safer.

@@EmmaHubbard Thank you for your response! Will take note of that! 🥰

No worries. I will be making a video soon on how to provide more support in a high chair to help little ones sit up for mealtimes which you might find helpful.

Can’t believe what you’re saying.. No one buys the jumper for strengthening muscles etc.. it’s a bit of short term bouncy fun for the babies.. you invented points just to counter them.. ridiculous!!

Just because you have a British accent and read one “article” doesn’t mean you know it all.

She’s a paediatric occupational therapist, so she’s speaking from her professional expertise, not just regurgitating an article. Also, that’s an Australian accent, not a British one. Do you have any supporting evidence to refute her claims?

Way to make assumptions Taylor! And all are wrong also! We know what type of person you are lol That’s for sure!

Omg second video I watch and I don’t agree with it. I put my baby non stop on tummy and he is 9 months old and not crawling yet. Don’t do only tummy time it doesn’t work !!!! I wish I knew that I have to do more things to help him develop more, I am absolutely buying door jumper and I m waiting for a physical therapist to see for a second opinion.
