This is another splendid London walk around The City but this time the Western part.
Joolz visits the Bank of England, Mansion House (where the Lord Mayor of London lives), The Temple of Mithras, The London Stone, Watling Street (Featuring Queen Boudicca), The Mummy of Jimmy Garlick, The Vintners Hall, Dick Whittington and a street with such a rude name that it had to be changed.

My 7 year-old daughter did a ‘show and tell’ at school earlier this year about the Great Fire of London and explained to her class why Sir Christopher Wren started the fire (and she also told them that Charles II didn’t want his statue on top of the Monument because he didn’t start the fire and he liked the song ‘we didn’t start the fire’). You are an inspiration, Joolz. Thank you.

Oh goodness.... I guess "sorry" just doesn't quite say it! Well, I'm so pleased that she enjoyed the films and found them useful. I do hope you explained to her that some of these things were jokes. I hope she delivered it well in class and got a good laugh from her teachers! Hey..you never know! It's still my theory!

Our daughter and her husband moved from Phoenix, AZ to London in Nov. ‘19. We were scheduled to see them in April. Alas! But, she recommended Joolz tour videos as a great way to see so much more of London than we would have on a first trip. She was quite right. This way we will have a better idea of our what we want to see when we finally get to visit. They are loving London.

Similar in function to the London Stone in London, there is the Boston Stone (which marks the spot from which all milestones are measured) in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. It was put in place 1737, but was used by a paint maker before that to grind pigments. Several milestones are still in place, as well.

I mean, I wouldn't be sad if the Clive statue in Whitehall moved to a museum. He was hated by his contemporaries in the 18th century and even when it was erected at the beginning of the 20th century loads of people questioned the wisdom of honoring a vicious colonialist/asset-stripper.

Thanks for giving me a reason to dream of travel and smile! Always wanted to come to London and your videos make me want to do it even more now, and to see and learn about parts of it that most tourists don't take the time to see. Love your style, your humor, the way you present information, and how we get to see areas that aren't just the normal "touristy stuff" and we don't just hear the "same old-same old" facts about a place because of the entertaining style you have. Would LOVE to see you do a Vlog showing pictures of London after/during the War showing the destruction that was caused and seeing how those same areas in the pictures came back and look now with the old buildings rebuilt and/or new ones in their place (like how you did with the picture of the awnings at Electic Avenue in your "Rather Superb tour of Brixton" Vlog) and how London rebuilt itself to come back stronger. Keep the Vlogs coming!

This may be complete cahones but I think the MP 10ft and similar signs may indicate the hydraulic power supply pipe(s) buried below There were several power companies supplying water power to the City. When I was Articled one of 'our' clients had an office in Broad Strret with a working hydralic lift in it. When you pulled the cord there was a sound of a 'great and mighty flush' as the hydralic motor wound you up the buliding. It caused great amusement..... My old college had it's organ blower powered by water - good for Handel's works???

So much history and I took several London Walks that helped me find places and areas I would never of found on my own. I was looking forward to my April 2020 and to be able to view the Mithra's Temple at Bloomberg Headquarters but we all know how that went; borders closed . But I am hopeful to rebook this fall or winter as I love the history of London and finding hidden gems. I love Joolz Guides videos and they always make me long to be back in London.
