New one for me, that's always exciting! And it was great! Big smile type song :D Now I have to listen to it ten more times or so! While we were waiting for the premiere, Heart of oak came up in the chat. And I think we need a video of it. I know there is one already, but it's so old that I think a lot of people don't even know it exists. So add that to the suggestion box.

Thank you so much for your beautiful rendition of this all-time classic! I love all the little things that you added to create a modern, fresh flavor (the claps in the chorus are brilliant), while still keeping the soul and essence of the song. I would have loved to hear this one live in Leipzig, but there will be tours in the future where we will hear this gem, I am certain!

Well here we are, we're back again, safe upon the shore In Belfast town we'd like to stay and go to sea no more We'll go into a public house and drink till we're content For the lassies, they will love us till our money is all spent So pass the flowing bowl while there's whiskey in the jar And we'll drink to all the lassies at the Jolly Roving Tar "Oh Johnny, did you miss me when the nights were long and cold? Or did you find another love in your arms to hold?" Says he "I thought of only you whilst on the sea afar! So come upstairs and cuddle with your jolly, roving tar!" So pass the flowing bowl while there's whiskey in the jar And we'll drink to all the lassies at the Jolly Roving Tar Well, in each other's arms they rolled until the break of day When the sailor rose and said "Farewell, I must be on my way!" "Why would you leave me, Johnny lad? I thought you'd marry me!" Says he "I can't get married, for I'm married to the sea!" So pass the flowing bowl while there's whiskey in the jar And we'll drink to all the lassies at the Jolly Roving Tar So pass the flowing bowl while there's whiskey in the jar And we'll drink to all the lassies at the Jolly Roving Tar Well, come you bonnie lassies now, a warning take by me Never trust a man like me an inch above your knee! I'll tease you and I'll please you, but when I've had my fun I'll leave you in the morning with a daughter or a son! (What a bastard!) So pass the flowing bowl while there's whiskey in the jar And we'll drink to all the lassies at the Jolly Roving Tar So pass the flowing bowl while there's whiskey in the jar And we'll drink to all the lassies at the Jolly Roving Tar

How did the banjo become popular in the British Isles? Wasn’t it originally an instrument of the American South and Appalachian Mountains?
@aquaticangel33808 ай бұрын
I believe the banjo actually originated as an african instrument, which was brought to the US through the slave trade. I’d guess it was brought to britain in a similar way, although with a lot less prevalence. When it comes to popular usage the banjo was mainly used in that area though and was popularized through those genres that popped up in the Appalachian region

I'm ... sorry but I'm a tad disappointed ... The original melody is great. I've listenend to many time to this tune to hear something else, every 4 bars I'm disappointed to not hear the second part of the melody, haha. Same for the end of the choruses ... As much as I'd like to like it, I really can't. The production quality is really nice though, as always ! :)
@anthonyjones72648 ай бұрын
It's missing the flute. If you listen to the Irish rovers there is flute they play the entire time. Removing that flute kills the entire. I have heard this song so much I could tell the moment the flute wasn't in it. Seriously if you're going to copy a song. At least try to get as close to the Melody as possible. Don't leave out instruments because they actually have purpose in these songs.
