Melburnian here who’s been to France before - can confirm LUNE is great (my family’s done the same thing and bought one of everything there) and I daresay it’s on the same level as really good croissants from French bakeries. Funny you mentioned cheese fondue. "Le Gruyere" is actually a special cheese from Fribourg in Switzerland, and the most common cheese fondue is called the "motié-motié". My best friend and I went to the original Lune store in Fitzroy towards the start of the year. After nearly passing out with joy, we realised the legends were true. We go back nearly once a week still, which is about an hour from where I live. You have never eaten anything quite like this in your life. Absolute perfection. If you haven’t been, do yourself a favour. Total heaven in a box!
