Regarding subtitles! We're still going to be doing all of our own translations and subtitling :) we're actually hiring a new team member to make this more sustainable (and so we don't have to take 1 month+ long breaks between each season!). 자막은요! 앞으로도 계속 저희가 번역을 비롯한 모든 자막 작업을 직접 할 예정이랍니다 :) 실제로 이것 때문에 팀 멤버를 한 명 더 고용하려고 하고 있고요 (시즌 중간마다 한 달씩이나 쉬는 기간을 갖지 않아도 되게요!) The only difference will be that the new subs won't be Korean + English embedded into the video. Instead you will be able to choose Korean OR English via KZbin CC subs. We WON'T be using the auto-generated English subtitles, we'll be adding our own English and Korean subtitles that you will be able to choose to turn on or leave off. 유일하게 바뀌는 점은 영상 안에 한국어+영어 자막이 박혀있지 않게 될 거라는 거예요. 대신에 유튜브 CC 자막에서 한국어나 영어 중에 자막을 선택해서 보실 수 있어요. 자동 생성되는 영어 자막을 쓰는게 아니라 저희가 직접 영어와 한국어를 각각 번역해서 입력할 거라서, 언어를 선택하거나 자막을 아예 끌 수 있는 옵션이 생길 거랍니다. Tbh, I'd prefer the burnt in subtitles. They are such a trademark of Korean Englishman/Jolly and really great for studying both Korean and English. I just wanna share something i just knew about youtube cc. You can custom the cc to look like their burn subtitle. Almost same! You can go to the menu and then go to setting and click captions and then choose the custom. And help yourself there to custom the cc to look like their burn subtitle.

My immediate thought after hearing the notification regarding CC thing was I would be fine with no burnt subtitles, but then it also hit me that it’s not about subtitles, but about maintaining originality or identity of this channel... thus there are chances of loosing some subscribers if removing the burned subtitles.... BUT! simultaneously, getting rid of burnt subtitles could lure more viewers from all around the world by making the videos of Jolly seem engaged in more various stuffs, not only ones related to Korea(no offense, I am Korean btw🙌). In my opinion, anyway, contents should come first than subtitle thing. If making subtitles took you guys too many time and efforts, you would better finding and trying new methods, which you guys have already come up with, KZbin CC function. Of course, no burnt subtitles would feel a bit awkward at first, people will get used to it over time, including me. Also I have already begun looking forward to more frequent uploads! Whatever the decision will be, I’ll keep watching the amazing videos you create😊 Hope everything will turn out the best for the channel and 영국남자 crew!💜👏
