Alpha base or Tanzbar 2? Which is more fun to play and perform live? How do they compare?
@CaveWay3 жыл бұрын
Tough call personally- They’re both fun. TB2 is more capable jamming live but the AB has hotter outputs making it way easier to record in the studio with minimal processing. Tb2 has better implementation of parameter locks but the AB has deeper sound design (but with less actual analog instruments). Both have fairly unique UI and both have a workflow that makes me create things with different results. Sooooo this is basically a long way of saying I don’t have an answer 😃

Any chance you can do a tutorial on the alpha base man?
@CaveWay3 жыл бұрын
Definitely! But my output has been slow lately as I’ve been using my free time to learn Ableton 🤙

Hey, do you ever clock your Alpha Base from the MPC? Got the MPC One running my modular setup and looking for some awesom drumcomputer with it. Groovy sound man, keep it up
@CaveWay2 жыл бұрын
I do clock the AB with the MPC live. More of ten than not I use the MPC to sequence the drums because it’s so easy

LMAO dude, you remember me? Anyway, smiled massively when I just now saw your post of this video with the AB.

Hey man just checking back in. So how are you feeling about the TB2 vs JAB? Also did you get your S2400 yet?
@CaveWay3 жыл бұрын
Yo What’s good? Still use them both but honestly lately I’ve been trying to learn ableton - which is super new to me. Its easier to travel with and with my half vax work travel will start up soon..... I gave up my spot on the s2400 and used the refund to get live suite..... most likely will regret that BUT i stay in tune with the message board an FB group.

@@CaveWay Oh that's too bad man. I'm loving mine. Feel super lucky to have gotten it at the preorder price. But Ableton Suite is excellent. It's my primary sequencer and recording set up. I decided TB2 interface wasn't for me. The Jomox looks great though.

So dope. Too expensive and I can't get over the bad reviews about the OS, MFB is bad enough, but yeah, such a delicious machine. Got my full sized OB6 2 days ago. That shit is disgusting.

Are you getting good snares out of it? I wish it had more mbrane voices. How do you like it compared to the Tanzbar 2?
@CaveWay4 жыл бұрын
Made In Machines I like sampling my own drum set for the snare and loading it into the AB. I use the mbrane more for percussion at this point, I don’t know the AB well enough to make a decent snare out of it.

@@CaveWay I'm really interested in a comparison from you between the tanzbar 2 and the alphabase :)
@CaveWay4 жыл бұрын
telkmx totally! once I have had some more time with the AB I’ll see what I can do. Their both great drum machines so you really can’t go wrong with either. Depends on what box(es) need to be checked but they both have pros and cons.

Really want to try the Jomox, but 90% certain I will be disappointed with everything by the sound.

@eric.jonsson63154 жыл бұрын
So jomox is the best drum machine? Did u like it the jam for live or it is a bit complicated?
@CaveWay4 жыл бұрын
Eric .Jonsson it’s an awesome drum machine. Its great live as a sound source with a separate sequencer. Not having knob/function (or close to it) makes live performance not ideal. As you have to focus on one instrument at a time.

@_EightySix4 жыл бұрын
LMMFAO. Something about an internet commenter saying the "delay is off", really gets me.
@marcusfreeweb4 жыл бұрын
EightySix I wrote "the timing for delay is off". It's not tuned to the beat of the song in any defined way, and this is always spoiling the fun for me. Like a guitar out of tune. Some people don't mind, but I never get it. I mean, if you want to do noise or experimental, ok, I can enjoy some good chaos too.
@CaveWay4 жыл бұрын
marcusfreeweb I hear you and it’s all good. The delay rhythm is for percussion nerds and programmed like a Jhaptal tala. In short it’s an asymmetrical rhythm but if you listen/play long enough it’s lined up on the 1 after the cycle. Silly things I do to entertain myself. If you listen to some tabla players they’ll illustrate much better than my programming can 😃
@marcusfreeweb4 жыл бұрын
Cave Way Ok, cool if you can enjoy it.
@NickHchaos3 жыл бұрын
@@CaveWay Do you play tablas? I love classical Indian music, went to many many concerts when I lived back in the SF Bay Area. Funny, I also think about how they use rhythm..as did John Mclaughlin.
