Even George Lucas has often said that his running LucasFilm had made it difficult to stay involved with his writing, and sometimes directing the Star Wars movies. Dave is fine with what he is doing. What does need to be done, and I say this because I'm tired of seeing/hearing Kathleen Kennedy talk, is for Disney to fire Kennedy as President of LucasFilm and put someone in whom Dave approves because he knows the man or woman understands, respects and will further George Lucas vision as Jon and Dave have done.

The biggest thing with Filonin is that, what Happy mentioned, he was able to have his hand on the development of those characters for over a decade: Those characters felt cohesive, organic, lived in. As we know from the recent films, too many cooks spoil the broth.
