It’s a fair point but that’s kinda the point of fighting sports, to knock your opponent out. Unfortunately, brain damage is a result. The oblique kick and severely fuck up someone’s knee. Once you mess up someone’s knee that’s kinda it. There’s no coming back. How many fighters get knocked out and come back just as strong? How many fighters have devastating broken bone injuries, like Chris Weidman, and come back just as strong?

And it's not going to be any bad brain damage that won't heal in like 99,99% of cases. And for the record, mild brain damage is a lot nicer than your most basic motor functions not working correctly for the rest of your life. He walked out of the alley in Kansas City between Grovener street and Baskin road. Suddenly he was jumped by an 8 foot tall gorilla sporting a wooden plank about the size of the average man's forearm, more than enough to cause serious brain damage or even death if struck with enough force. He promptly used this kick against the gorilla, but missed and smacked it square in the dick. It was less than ideal, but the force was enough to pop a testicle and send the gorilla to the ER. After fourteen stitches and months of psychiatric treatment, it made a full recovery. The process was a learning exercise for both, and promptly got married under the marula trees at Kruger National Park, South Africa. They still bone frequently to this day. Lovely story 🌹

He was tossed from the entire production forever for it, a lifetime ban. Jones should be name 2 on that list. He literally counts one eye gouge, and 2 back of the head shots, as per rules, as part of his game. Now go back to the fights, name one without an illegal move, ever. It's not possible, there isn't one fight in which he didn't throw a foul strike at an opponent, regardless of this kick controversy caused by rule setters sleeping on the equivalent of a car wreck to the knee. That's so unacceptable it's ridiculous. Also, the original rules set after they devised one did NOT allow ANY joint striking, which this is. So there is that, it's probably not legal in that it's considered covered by another rule, and not directly stated as a n illegal move by name, which this is not actually called a oblique kick, it's just a tiep kick applied to knee. A sadist thinks this is normal shit. It's not, and disrespectful as well to do anything to a fellow fighter knowingly, woth such high potential for immediately permanent damage.

They signed up for it. Their job is to fight, and their goal is to win. If they don't want to get hit by a kick to the knee, then they should learn how to properly defend it, or avoid it. Skill Issue. And before you come at me with, "you dont know shit about fighting!!", nope, I am trained in Muay Thai, and now pursuing Kali, my nation's national combat art. If they can't even defend an oblique kick, or at least dodge it, it's not for Jones' or other fighters who use it to adjust for them. They are getting paid to fight, it's literally their job, but you're telling me they can't even train how to handle an oblique kick? Just quit if you can't adapt, don't cry about it.

Jon really doesn't mind hurting people, does he? I'd definitely have issues with damaging someone permanently. But, if you don't embody Jon's mentality, you will get hurt badly in there. So, I get it and that's why I don't think I'd make a good fighter. Don't get me wrong, I already made a pact with myself that I will go all the way to do what needs to be done to protect me and those I love. And I have done it a few times. I just feel terrible afterwards.
