Met Jon Paul in about 1989 at the Rothiemurchus Highland Games, Aviemore, Scotland. He was with many other WSM, including Gary Taylor and Ted Van De Parre but JPS was a different class, such as the farmers lift when he beat everyone by a significant distance. At the end of the Games, he was great with fans and lifting people up at their request for a photo opportunity. Myself and friend Mick asked if we could instead pick Jon Paul up, he duly obliged but he was belly laughing so much we nearly dropped him! RIP Jon Paul.
