Alex Jones (Not That One)’s Simon Cowell
Richard reveals all the changes that are happening with the podcast, plus what RHLSTP now stands for (and he’s not happy) before introducing the first guest of the new London based series JON RONSON. They discuss giving up internal organs for Jesus, Jon’s part in the election of Donald Trump, how understanding data is the key to ruling the modern world, what it’s like to visit a porn shoot, why people want to have sex with their step-siblings, the insanity of pile-on social media and hypocrisy of humanity and whether the world can survive the internet revolution. Includes NO Emergency Questions.

To those who've not seen the documentary, Alex Jones's idea of preppy clothes was a green shirt, beige slacks and khaki baseball cap. The way Ronson is describing it, Alex walked out of the changing room looking like Brideshead Revisited. Also, Alex concocted some preppy talk to help him blend in with the elites of Bohemian Grove where he'd walk around with his collaborator talking about the problems involved with further miniaturising microprocessors.

@@mattgreek1066 Alex Jones never said he done had him a buncha RonJonson to hand on that hallowed day when his Bug-out day training kicked in, and he effected a covert incursion into the camp of the enemy. The worst depravity, Taking the occasional grainy still of some big fire chicken or some shit they was doin'. So I believe. They're saying Elvis used to kick back with them boys too. That whole Alex Jones conspiracy theory stuff reminded me of this quote by Alan Moore: “The main thing that I learned about conspiracy theory, is that conspiracy theorists believe in a conspiracy because that is more comforting. The truth of the world is that it is actually chaotic. The truth is that it is not The Iluminati, or The Jewish Banking Conspiracy, or the Gray Alien Theory. The truth is far more frightening - Nobody is in control. The world is rudderless.” - Alan Moore

Great stuff, but I don't understand the numbering. The last one was #200 (Adam Buxton), in which case, this should be #201. If you include the 2 Bristol podcasts at the slapstick festival, then this should be #203. What's going on? Pedantically yours.

Richard Digance. That's the first comedian I remember remembering Spangles, back in the 1980s. Entirely possible they were still available, 'cos there's a song of his on here called "200 Remembers" in which he reels off a load of random stuff from the past, including Spangles and various other items of confectionery, some of which are still available to this very day. The song contains the line "Does anyone remember Love Hearts?"
