Reminds me of the show Miami Vice for those of us that grew up in the 80s. Sonny Crockett played by actor Don Johnson was thought to have been sporting a Rolex Day Date 18k 128238 36mm. Much of the time he wore fake versions of this model early in season 1 so as not to damage the original model in scenes where damage to the watch could have added to the cost of the show's budget and insurance.

I was confused years ago by the closeup of Arnie's watch in Commando, when he sets the countdown timer. I could never figure out what it was. Because it's some kind of prop they apparently made for that scene.

It wasn't Elliot who was given the watch, it was Tyrell. His rival in E Corp offered him his watch and told him to pay off his mortgage with it. The watch was iirc a Patek Philippe Sky Moon Tourbillon. I had a read a pretty good analysis of that scene a while ago which focuses on the watches and what they represent in the context of that scene.
