You just reminded me of Lomu Rugby 95 on ps1, if you went NZ vs Japan and passed it to Lomu, you could run around in circles in the middle of the field, attract the whole Japanese team then fend team all off atleast twice and still get a try 🤣 they really made Lomu a god on those games

I went to the National 7s in Palmerston North with a bunch of mates and heard about this young No 8 who played for the New Zealand Secondary Schools team alongside our favourite "son" Carlos Spencer. Watched his first game for Counties on the back field....OH MY GOD.....ran around....ran over....the kid just DESTROYED everyone and anyone and the legend was born. Damn shame he never scored a Test try against the SpringBoks but sure as hell filled the highlights reel when it came to Super Rugby against the South African teams....Absolute PHENOM....R.I.P Big Jonah Lomu

American football was born from Rugby Union. You'all changed and adapted it to suit your American psyche.....awesome game.....just too stop start and Rugby mentality just cannot get over passing or throwing the ball forward. Rugby League was born from Rugby Union also.....the Blue Collar faction decided to pay the players so broke away and changed/adapted the rules to suit. It would be truly AWESOME if the US of A could fully embrace Rugby Union again with all their Professional resources they would be GIANTS of the game.

Yes he’s one of the greatest rugby players, and innate talent to be there at the right time. But when they try and tackle him, he simply ‘steps’ out of them, they seem to catch hs ankles when the best would be at his waist.
@jonnybaynham1689
@jonnybaynham1689 6 ай бұрын
I think what was deceptive about Jonah wasn't his size but his pace and stepping ability. In his prime in the 90s he was really good at swerving past defenders at pace, making him really hard to catch. The best tackles on him do seem to get him around the waist as you say - he got shackled fairly well by SA in the 90s that way

Unfortunate he couldn't tackle. We lost the 94 series to France, IN NZ, because of the chip over Lomu and watch him try to 1. Turn and 2. Tackle. No dice. Lovely guy. Great attacking player. Not the best rugby player
@dssfffdddss333
@dssfffdddss333 6 ай бұрын
That's a lie, Lomu could tackle and apart from that game name another game where Lomu's defense costs the All Blacks the game? Lomu was a kid in 94 the youngest ever, a kid who the previous year was playing number 8 against school kids. Not to mention he wasn't the only player missing tackles against the french in 94.
@icetroll734
@icetroll734 6 ай бұрын
@@dssfffdddss333 that game was a series. He couldn't turn and tackle ever in his career, IMHO (and most other kiwis). It isn't a "lie", it is an opinion that is different to yours, hehe. He was crazy great with ball in hand, no doubt. I've jumped up to celebrate when he's at the 22, just like everyone else
@dssfffdddss333
@dssfffdddss333 6 ай бұрын
@@icetroll734 You were specifically talking about the Eden park test. Who was to blame for the previous test? like I mentioned before, he wasn’t the only player missing tackles that game he was however the least experienced so why is he the only one getting singled out? You claimed he couldn’t tackle which is completely false. He wasn’t the best at turning and tackling but like I said before name another game where Lomu’s defence cost the All Blacks the game. Funny how you never hear about Cullens defensive weaknesses only Lomu’s. I've witnessed Lomu make multiple tackles even try saving tackles, it's not an opinion its a fact.
@icetroll734

@@dssfffdddss333 don't know how to explain what lie and false mean, fella. You should prefice with "in my opinion" or if you're really putting your fragile ego out there in my HUMBLE opinion. Maybe the hate runs too deep? I'd suggest breathing in, hold, breathe out, hold, and so on. Helps the calm come over like a nice warm blanket. Talking like you are ain't changing opinions. Breathe, hold....
