I denounce what Hamas is doing to Israeli citizens, absolutely. I fear what Israel will do to accelerate the dissolution of Palestinian citizens. This cannot be the way for anyone. Without water & buildings ("infrastructure") civilians in Gaza will dehydrate to death in rubble(?). No electricity for water pumps + no hospital care = higher % of wounded will die. I fear that the rationale of Israel's statements that Hamas uses civilians as shields, & this are indistinguishable, will not only mean no safe refugee corridors will be provided, but will result in mass extermination of citizens impounded by Israel under Hamas rule. I do not know any answer other than a 2 or 3 state solution which Israel has not, and likely will not, dependably commit to and comply with. My heart breaks for both sides, ... and for Ukrainians. ❣️ Grieving for all victims

As someone who has been neutral to all of this, I’m getting tired of Israel’s gaslighting. Israel is breaking international law. While they have been doing it for a long time by the settlements it is worse now that 2 million civilian lives are at stake by breaking international law with a siege and communal punishment, which is expressly forbidden under the law. I’m really worried that the US won’t hold Israel to that and the result will be genocide. Israel is dependent on all the military aid from the US. You can set the terms. I contacted my friend in Israel, who I grew up with in a Jewish bungalow colony. I was the only Black child in this bungalow colony. My father helped build this colony, and I spent 6 months to 14 years there until I was old enough to work in New York City. I called my friend whose family moved from Brooklyn to Israel 20 years ago. He got married there, had his children, and brought his mother from Brooklyn to Israel, who is now 97 years old. I contacted him to find out what was happening in Israel, and he and his family were safe. He told me what I saw on television was true, and they were safe. Tonight is his youngest daughter's wedding. The people that were supposed to attend have been reduced to 50 people instead of the larger crowd expected. What a horror and disgrace that has come upon the joy of my friend and the people of Israel. The way the world is, this can happen anywhere. There is too much hate in the world. We must pray for ourselves. We are all under attack and should not think this cannot happen to us in the United States. Pray for peace, pray for unity, pray for sensitivity, pray for sanity. Israel is a project to extend and maintain American empire by essentially having an American-Jewish military colony in the heart of the Middle East and Abrahamic world, one of the most specific objectives of which is to have a perpetually militarized state in the region as a reliable junior partner in the military industrial complex. To a certain extent, Saudi Arabia qualifies as the Sunni Muslim wing of this overall project of empire, specifically to function as a major antagonist towards Iranian interests in the region (more specifically the Persian Gulf which remains to this day the most important economic chokepoint in the world). This also explains why the Saudis were as frustrated as any party with the attack by Hamas on October 7th, as the Saudis saw it as an obvious play by Hamas and ultimately Iran to thwart the recent negotiations between Saudi Arabia and Israel to deepen their geopolitical and economic partnership similar to the Abraham Accords between Israel and other Arab states (United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Bahrain, etc.) A general framework to understanding all of these geopolitical and international relations issues is to understand that the ruling classes of powerful nations always seek to partner with each other first, ultimately to maintain control over their own populations. Of course, sometimes these attempts of ruling classes to create and maintain partnerships do not always take shape due to more specific competing interests, as seen in states like Iran, North Korea, Russia and China preferring partnerships with one another as opposed to partnering with the world's superpower, perhaps because they view that superpower as an already slowly fading empire First off, one point that I think is absolutely non-negotiable is that Jerusalem and its immediate surroundings has to become an internationally-administered zone, along the lines of what was originally proposed in the 1947 UN Partition Plan. The top priority of this internationally-administered zone would of course be the safe access of pilgrims of the Abrahamic faiths to their respective holy sites. Its strategic and ultimately symbolic significance cannot be avoided. As far as the viability of making Jerusalem an internationally administered city, we have modern historical precedents, such as Trieste and The Free City of Danzig, as well as Berlin after WW2 The only legitimate solution at this point for this cluster you-know-what in the Middle East is to bring back the mandate system with an American-led multi-party coalition. Ultimately, this new hypothetical 'Holy Land' mandate can be transformed into some multi-ethnic confessional Abrahamic theocratic confederation, the actual civil, legal and even political administration of which could be modeled on the Swiss canton system. Those dogmatically inclined 'secularists' who object to the notion of a theocratic confederation in this context should be reminded that the legal system of the current Jewish State is modeled on the civil code of the Ottoman Empire as well as the religious legal frameworks of Jewish Halakha and Muslim Sharia, mostly pertaining to laws of personal status, i.e. marriage, divorce, inheritance, etc. The unavoidable conclusion of everything that's been going on in the Middle East is that along with the obvious reality that Palestinian nationalism was always inevitably a failed project, October 7th, with its gross failures on the part of the Israeli military and intelligence, has now left not a shadow of doubt that the Jewish State is a failed project as well

Mr greenblatt, it has always been clear that if israel put down its weapons, there would be no israel. I visited israel twice, on religious pilgrimage. It was clear that israel was a place to LIVE. A celebration of life, and love of God. It is holy ground. I was able to visit the temple mount, a place all religions revere. Israel allowed it to be in the hands of palestinians. Horrified at what they have done. I’m so sorry this is happening. My heart goes out to you. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
