I can hear the signs of genius in this live video. His poetry is the key. My son also liked his songs, and was fortunate to hear them a few years before he died of asthma complications in 1989. Richman was influenced by amny great geniuses, both in visual and sonic arts. If only today's songwriters were as holisticly creative!

Interesting this song has been around since 1983, because it didn't make an appearance until 1992 on record via I, Jonathan. That could very well be a re-recording though knowing Jonathan.

Just saw this guy warm-up for The Growlers. It seemed like he wasn't super well received, but maybe it was the part of the crowd I was in. It's kind weird to me that he stops playing randomly. It makes it hard to get lost in it. He has cool vibes though, he dances a lot. And the lyrics are pretty rad.
