This song is obviously political but loosely based... so my question is this: would people rather Trump make the economy boom so that everyone can work hard to fuel their dreams... or would they rather a communist state under Harris(cuz Biden is almost done with this plane of existence I think) where everyone is broke and on welfare and the country is always at war? Watch the screen. I think this song is open to interpretation but watch who the media is censoring. Find out who you're not allowed to criticize and you will know who is in charge of your lives.

Lyrics for peeps like me who had trouble reading them: Born and raised in broken doubt, generation raised by liars Fact or fiction, right or wrong, tangled up in every wire They said it can't get better than this, all our questions why were dismissed Misbehaving children should not resist So rise above your father's pride, don't let him pick your side Don't let his failure widen this divide Through the screen the children start to see how much better it could be Just cogs in their machine in the land of broken dreams Born and raised to waste our lives, working for a rich old man Kept dumb and sick and filled with fright, no one really gives a damn Water rising with every day, build these bridges before it's too late Used to drowning, content to accept our fate So rise above your father's pride, don't let him pick your side Don't let his failure widen this divide Through the screen the children start to see how much better it could be Just cogs in their machine in the land of broken dreams

The lyrics "Through the screen, the children start to see /How much better it could be" really hit home. I know a lot of people, myself included, that have used the internet to inform themselves on topics that aren't talked about (racism, global warming, other issues), and how easy it would be to fix some of those things. I hope these young generations really take power into their own hands and fix a lot of the shit the other generations broke, neglected, or made worse. Here's to a brighter future

If you only look at the negatives and ignore the progress that has been made we'll never move forward. I've seen enough people pretend we still live in 1820 rather than 2020. We still have problems, no denying it. But make sure you see just how much better things are even one lifetime later to know what to tackle next.

Honestly, I think it might be too late. I would be not at all surprised if the human race dies out in the next 6-7 generations, whether it's due to nuclear war or something more mundane like global warming. I'm not counting on us lasting much longer unless some truly drastic changes are made. edit for grammar
@Cennetz24
@Cennetz24 3 жыл бұрын
@@Lucky8r8k Oh, it's not too late - humanity isn't doomed - our current way of life, likely. If we disregard the event of enough of the worlds ruling class going insane overnight to start a truly world spanning nuclear conflict - then we're not heading for a sheer cliff face, though it may seem that way. It's not a matter of things getting bad, it's a matter of how bad. There's no point at which it no longer matters to do anything, that point doesn't exist, but it's a matter of how much it is going to cost. It's a bit like an accumulating loan, the sooner and more you pay off on it, the less you end up paying in the end. However, the longer you go without paying off on it, or paying off less than the rate - the bigger the debt and the more you have to pay to keep it from increasing further.

@@redforest9269 the video makes some great points, and I'm not denying that capitalism is flawed, but when it comes down to it Marxism and other forms of socialism or communism don't provide growth of wealth, while in capitalism its much easier for working class citizens to grow their wealth. You shouldn't have to work for half your life just so that someone else doesn't have to work their whole life. While it's sad that many people under capitalism work hard yet remain poor, it is not my cross to bear or any other well off people. I shouldnt be punished just because I'm luckier than others.

"You must rise above your father's pride. Don't let him pick your side." Man. Like "now that you've hit the bottom - learn to not look down" in Walked A Mile, you just have this brilliant ability to write lyrics that cut right through in a way that I almost wish they didn't. Damn. More originals!

The music gentlemen produce prove that radio is dead. This is literally better than absolutely every song I've heard on the airwaves in the past decade. Along with a message that's so much more substantial than anything that would ever get put into the mainstream, this is magnificently impactful and well done.

I know you probably won't see this considering all the thousands of comments you get, but I just wanted to say that this song means so much to me personally and I can't get enough of listening to it. The lyrics could genuinely describe my life, my childhood, and the lies I grew up believing. Sometimes when I'm listening, a few of your lyrics jump out and hit me right in the feels. "So rise above your father's pride, don't let him pick your side" nearly made me cry the first time I heard it, because my father is a prejudiced and prideful man who actually did pick my political side from a young age. It wasn't until a few years ago that I finally realized I hated everything about the "side" that I'd been taught to support no matter what. I love your original works and can't wait to see more. :) Thank you for sharing your skill with all of us.
